For the Love of God, Ladies, Smile!

I've noticed that a lot of pictures on both independent and agency websites hardly ever show a provider smiling.  In fact, it's just the opposite.  Often times it's a stern, disinterested look that seems to say, "I am not really into this."  I think providers have a much better chance of drumming up business (and making money) if you look like an enjoyable person. I'm much more likely to take the plunge if a woman looks like she has a fun, healthy attitude rather that looking like she's trying to fight off a bladder infection. :) A few times I've taken a chance on a provider who doesn't smile and a couple of times found her to be very personable and fun.  If she had been smiling in her pic, I would have seen her much sooner.

Have a great day everybody!

... to post pics of ourselves looking bored.
But so many of us blur our faces.

Anyways, I think you have a type. Lol

As a person who is not photogenic at all, it's a mixture of trying to get the awkward poses right and also trying to achieve a sultry, seductive look.We aren't professional models, it's hard to get pro photos taken.  If you look at 99 percent of the magazine ads, porn photos, etc they aren't smiling unless it's for a Colgate or Crest White Strip ad.

We aren't sad and depressed, it's our measly attempt to look sexy, I tend to look constipated. Stop overthinking things and look at the entire package, instead of focusing on a face that appears to be "disinterested". We are making money (willingly) in this industry, trust me, that puts a smile on my face.

Funny enough, on my last shoot, the photographer had to tell me to stop smiling repeatedly. A neutral face is apparently better in "boudoir" photography. I have a big, cheesy grin when I'm not being snippy on the boards ;)

I have been actually modeling for years and it still takes effort! and as one gal pointed out - most providers haven't! It doesn't mean they aren't friendly or enjoying what they do. There is a big difference between feeling exposed and awkward in front of a camera, wanting to look sexy, and being in person in a mellow environment with a real person looking at you and creating smiles.

Plus - sometimes we look weird in pix when we smile. People always say I look better in person because a lot of my pix (especially from porn) make me look awkward and somehow 10lbs heavier when I am smiling. My face just magically becomes fat.

So, maybe do a phone call to match the energy to a person vs trying to base their energy off of still photos. Its hard to capture a person's real vibrance in stills.

Thank you for this post!!! Ladies who do post full or even partial face pics seem to have a notion that dour is somehow good. I want to have fun, and it's amazing how central smiles play into having fun in anything and everything humans do. I too have always wondered why the lack of smiles in pics, and every time in looking at such an ad, I have to go through the machinations of trying to imagine what the lady might look like if she had a smile. Quit making me work so hard!!!! Maybe "sultry" is supposed to be sexier than happy and fun, but if so, there aren't many ladies pulling the look off right - just comes across as sad and disinterested too often. A smile is worth 1,000 fantasies.

I would scare you away if I smiled in my photos. I'd look like a constipated Barbie or something. I am guilty of the "resting bitch face" look and I smile I look very weird if it's forced, my ass makes up for it so I do alright, I also didn't show my face.
