I enjoy either spending time before or after with my new friends, on my time.  I find that it brings us closer and then there tend to be more sparks BCD.

I was seeing a lady regularly a few years ago (she has since left the business) and we became a little friendly beyond the working relationship.  It was always by her suggestion.

At first we would sometimes go for lunch after taking care of business as usual.  Sometimes, when she did not have transportation, we would go to the mall (she never let me pay for any of her purchases).  Then later, she saw me at her apartment.  We would hang out for the after noon watching movies or having take out, event a nap.  Somewhere in there we would work in the "fun" parts.  It was a much more relaxed experience.

I always gave the her going remuneration, I never used the friendship to try and get a deal and she never asked for anything more.  It was really felt like business friends with benefits plus a helping donation.  But there was always business worked into the time together.

I have seen a few ladies in my time, with a few regulars, and this was the only time this kind of thing happened.
