“If you can’t be smart, be nice,” was advice that comedian Jonathan Winters gave during one of his shows.  Although it got a lot of laughs at the time, I thought it was sage advice, some wisdom worth considering, and a suggestion that I frequently passed on to employees who reported to me. The point? I would like to see his advice taken to heart by at least one of our local agencies—as well as other agencies that I may deal with in the future that will “fuck-up” appointment dates and times. I unfortunately had a recent experience with an agency that helped me better understand “fubar” and “snafu,” especially with respect to appointment dates and times, and found nothing about the experience amusing; wish I could.  We have all screwed up something at one time or another—those who haven’t don’t have a pulse and are probably androids--and blunders are common, but I think all of us become much more accepting of fuck-ups if the major players in the drama at least offer apologies and show good will in working hard to make things right.  For example, my favorite agency manager, Cindy at TGND, has at times made mistakes in coordinating appointments, locations, etc. for me, but based on my own experience and what I have heard form others, she has always been apologetic and, best of all, makes every effort to correct the error and assuage the “pain” suffered by the client, taking the initiative to make things right without being asked to do so. This unnamed agency I dealt with manifested no class or grace in the matter, and became very defensive when questions were asked, and, to top it off, reverted to blaming me for its incompetence—the person I dealt with clearly had “attitude” reflecting an inflated ego. No, I am not going to identify the agency, since I do not want to get into some pissing match with the agency and their loyal clients, but do hope all the agencies could perhaps step back now and then and try seeing problems from the perspective of clients who are at times significantly inconvenienced by their mistakes. Giving Winter’s advice some consideration could possibly make life on the reservation less exasperating, even if dates and times for appointments occasionally get screwed up in the future.

I've had some mix ups in appointments with several agencies and most were apologetic and compensated me in a way that was agreeable to both of us.  One particular agency has had more than its share of issues and NEVER has offered any compensation to me (one time I waited 45 minutes in a hotel parking lot). They currently have a lady in town that I'd love to see but I probably won't for the reasons stated.  I'm a loyal customer and I would rather give my business to the agencies that treat me right.

Why complain when you don't have the balls to name the agency?  How is this going to help anyone?  If we know the identity of the offending party, maybe we can all take our business elsewhere....that would really effect some changes.  But posts like yours does nothing for the betterment of the community.  If you won't or can't make revelations, then STFU.
Same thing goes for guys who have a gripe with a provider and won't name the provider.

This is The Erotic REVIEW. REVIEW GODDAMMIT!!

"If you cannot be smart, be nice."  That is the message, and see it as applying to all of us--agencies, providers, and reviewers of the ladies. Most importantly, the post is really addressed to all agencies--and an example of a model agency was provided--not to simply torch one agency, an agency that does in fact make available some stellar ladies. Or am I required to "torch" a specific agency or an individual in a post?  Is that a TER review rule or one a few people have made up and want the rest of us to adhere to the rules they make up?

You make my point very well. Of course, getting pissed off works so well, as we all know from all the irrational discourse and incivility that seems to pass for political discourse. TER does not give us a pass on incivility, or does it?  It seems that perhaps it does, at least for some. Very interesting.  Am sure that modus operandi will work well for all of us. Have always found that incivility and irrational discourse--usually emanating from people who insist on reading between the lines and not reading the actual lines and words. "Review" according to the dictionary means: analysis, evaluation, assessment, appraisal, examination, investigation, inquiry, probe, inspection, study.  Do not see any requirement there that specific names of individuals or entities be provided or that "torching" is an essential component of reviewing. Could be wrong, and am apparently wrong in the opinion of some.  My two cents, again.  That and two bucks will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.  Lighten up. Suggest you may wish to quit taking all this so seriously. You do not have to read the posts, if they just piss you off.  All of us have opinions, and they are exactly that, opinions and not the absolute truth about a subject.  Of course, anyone is free to pontificate and parade their opinions as the truth and nothing but the truth.  I am not persuaded by opinions loaded with emotions and anger. Does not work for me.

Here's a old saying for you Amator - “Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it.”  While I understand your point, the reason behind stating your point is the reason this board was created. The board is a conduit to share information about the hobby both for the providers and the hobbyist. It's great you feel the boards have turned angry, that's your opinion as you so clearly pointed out and if I were you I'd pass on coffee and try some nice chi tea. But if we don't share our experiences both good, bad or indifferent then whats the point, to pound our chests and brag about the number of ladies we have paid in order to write fantasy tales of bedroom trysts about?

Why so serious works for the Joker very nicely, but in this situation you say you were burned by an agency and then proceed to speak so glowingly of TGND....you are no more than a shill for TGND at that point since you are so fearful of people bringing wrath upon you for naming the agency you had issue with. Clearly we do not have the other side of the story here, don't know how your dealings internally went from the perspective of the agency or understand why you are so angry then suddenly tell everyone to just relax, it's okay guy and drop it. So go on Mr. Bashes on Unnamed Agencies With Reckless Abandon then Tell Your Fellow Hobbyist to Relax, this Bud is for you.

Happy to see you, too, are advancing civility and rational discourse with intemperate judgment. Should TER sponsor a kangaroo court, my vote is for you as the presider.

Wow so I guess that if you can't be nice, be smart resorted to being snide eh? Well played sir, I guess you missed your own point as well?

And since you decided to not address any of my concerns or questions about the other side of the story, I'll chalk this up to you just needing some attention. Happy hunting out there, hope your vague and slanderous remarks about every agency save for TGND don't get you blacklisted ;)

Name one agency that was slandered?  Of course there is another side to the story, and no one said there was not another side to the story. Did I say that anywhere in the post?  Suggest reading the lines and paying attention to the words; that approach to reading seems to work better than reading between the lines. You are so right about needing attention. Feel better?  Please let me know when this session of the kangaroo court is concluded. Will await your response as to what agency was slandered. Or, is using one agency as an example of how to provide good service "slandering" the other agencies.  Interesting conclusion.

out of my will after a comment like that; and I thought you were a "prince of a guy," a noble person.

I've known a few issues of clashing dispositions in this hobby.  Since they tend to happen when I'm on the verge of blue balls, they can be very frustrating!

I use agencies all the time and I can deal with the occasional mistake, but I don't do rude well at all. I have a onetime rule when it comes to putting money in the pockets of any business that cannot deal with me in a professional, respectful manner “no second chance”. There are way too many good agencies out there for me to put up with poor service.  Besides, the hobby is my way to de-stress and enjoy a little quality time so I protect it fiercely and will not tolerate anyone I’m dealing with who doesn’t do their part to  keep the drama to a minimum.
Just my opinion, ymmv

That is the primary reason I do not use agencies very often.  I have met some very nice ladies who worked for agencies, and in reality the number of mix-ups has been about the same with agencies and independent ladies.  Unfortunately when something does go wrong the likelihood of an acceptable resolution with an independent is much greater.  I don't know if ladies working for agencies always know how much business a bad agency can cost them.
