I think you acted like a perfect gentleman, and when you thought you needed to protect yourself from a possible flake, you went to the front desk and took steps to protect yourself.

I think what you need a little more of is guts to stand by what you did.If I were you, I wouldn't use an alias for this kind of post and would out her.  I don't know what you are afraid of.

If you have been in the hobby for last 15+ years, you should have seen it all, and we all know that the best of them flake at times.  Doesn't seem to be that serious a reason to quit hobbying altogether.

You're experienced at this, you SHOULD know how it goes.  You write "50 mins later..." that woulda been it for me.  I woulda simply said we will need to reschedule regardless of her reasons why she was late.

I woulda hit the airwaves (TER) and other resource tools (EURO) and found the next candidate.  

You gotta keep this stuff simple.  Shit happens for a host of legitimate and Bullshit reasons/excuses.  I dont take it personal........after 15 mins and it's obvious that the appointment will be problematic I pull the plug and move on.

With all due respect, if I were you, I'd quit hobbying for a while.  Give it 4 or 5 months.

The post you provide comes across as both naive and unbelievably desparate.    Being "horny" is no excuse for such a desparate grasp at straws.  I could tell by the 2nd or 3rd sentence in there that she wasn't going to come.  And all this nonsense about her boyfriend's father passing away is silly.  The "concern" in your voice indicates that it's way past time to stop.  Unless you know her personally - I'd doubt that she has a boyfriend, I'd doubt that the last time she DID have a boyfriend that he even had a father and if he did, I'd bet you her hourly rate that he's alive and kicking.

If that is the worst problem you ever have consider yourself lucky.  Why would you consider quitting because of this?  I think you are excessively worrying about it though changing rooms might have been a good thing to do.  She probably did either double book or got an offer to extend time.  Many guys will have a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, obviously some providers are going to do the same thing.  For someone who has been around as long as you, I am also surprised you are worried about her feelings when odds are she was feeding you a big pile of smelly crap.  The phone part of the story I might accept.  But when she adds on the death on top if it I would probably consider asking her how strong the weed was she was smoking.  If you knew her well and had a trusting track record maybe.  But it sounds like this was the first time you scheduled with her.  If someone is over about 30 to 45 minutes late I am on the computer seeing if there is an alternate plan available to set up.  Look at it this way, you are $600 richer.

She gave you some classic textbook excuses yet you still believe her.  A "VIP" type provider as you described, will never have a broken phone.  The phone is their livelihood.  How can her phone be broken but she can still text??

Also, a sudden death or accident or car trouble are other classic excuses.  She doesn't sound so "VIP" to me.

The only thing you did right was to switch rooms.  It's hard to believe you've been at this for over a decade.

Sorry, but for anyone u've never met and have set up a first business appt with, to tell you her BOYFRIEND's relative is sick, is creepy. Why couldn't she just say a friend or acquaintance? Talk of spouses and bf's and gf's should wait until at least the third date!
