Most smart providers follow through with their travel plans as long as they have a few appointments booked in advance. Many times this done with regulars.  

  I have heard about girls making trips and losing out due to cancellations or NCNS, but I have never had this happen because maybe I am lucky? I always make sure the trip is paid for and that I will make money. If I arrive and I get cancellations(it happens Grrrr) then I book other appointments.

guarantee booking an appointment with a provider before she is in town. since she wants to pre book as much as possible.

so when you see her ad, don't hesitate.

Some providers do pre-booking before they are going to visit a city.  If by the time it's close to their scheduled visit dates and they don't receive a certain amount of bookings, they would cancel/reschedule their plan.  It always sucks when that happens, especially when the cancellation notice comes in the day before your scheduled appointment day.

but for the most part they will drop an unprofitable city very quickly.

She may return if she made less than expected, but if she lost $$, very often not.

Some cities (DC for example) have very bad reps for last minute CXs and NSs, and a lot of fine ladies I have tried to talk into visiting DC will have no part of it for that reputation.
