Second, she said she'd accompany you to a restaraunt or a bar. I'd have said, let's go and driven for about 30 minutes to a place and had something to eat. When the meal was over, I would have said thanks for the company. I'll see you later. If she asked for a ride back, I would have told her no problem but we're on my time and it'll cost $250.

Want to make sure this shit doesn't happen again?
1. Get verified through P411
2. Look up chicks in the DC area there and on here and make a fucking appt (not a last minute booty call)
3. Enjoy yourself and come back and brag about it in a review.
4. Repeat as often as possible.

Unless you're experienced like Beefeater500, DC is not the place to experiment with backpage and a boner.

Thanks for everyone's input! You're all correct in your points, but I'll say a few things in my defense.
First, she had no reviews. However, I'll concede that later I did find a posting about her in a forum post. I know now how to do better searching.
Second, she wasn't on Backpage - she was on Eros DC. Isn't that considered more upscale?
Finally, I saw her on a business trip. My regular hobbyist grounds are in the Bay Area. Out here, we don't need verification sites to get a great experience!

Thanks again. Live and learn as they say. I'm heading out to DC again in the near future, so I'm going to try again!

....when I started in the hobby a little over a year ago.  Both times were outcall (rarely do that anymore, as well) and both times they were paid and provided no services.  Both were young backpage girls.

Really was at a crossroads in the hobby when I happened to get lucky and "pick the right one" off of Backpage one day.  She asked if I would please review her on TER (maybe the smile on my face as I was leaving hinted that the review would be positive?) and I told her I stay away from the boards because it is another way to get caught by the wife.

Week later I was still thinking about it, sent her an email asking for a clue as to how to write a review for her, and the rest as they say is history.  I have not been ripped off since, primarily due to researching on TER first.,

I understand the temptation all too well.  I probably take a look at BP two or three times a week.  Young, hot, so damn tempting.  Also so damn not worth the risk on so many levels unless you can cross reference them here or elsewhere.  You can always email them off of BP and ask if they are reviewed anywhere, as well.

And no you didn't misunderstand her game, I can assure you she finds it quite lucrative.

Funny how you should mentioned this, and here is a good theory:

We have something called the "state of nature" and "civil society": most of you are familiar with this. When we as hobbyist and providers participate in this hobby, we have already breached the civil "contracts" of this state and have entered into the "state of nature" (where anything goes; no contracts to abide to; and civility is DEFINITELY not required).

You, me, and any other person who CHOOSES to breach the conditions within a "civil society" of a state will have to be responsible for themselves. Here is the interesting part: how do we separate ourselves from the "state of nature"? It is natural for MOST of us to grow out of the "state of nature" and into civil society where we learn civility and "contracts". However, there will always be some individuals where the "state of nature" is like second hand nature to them: that is, it is difficult for them to overcome and "suppress" their "state of nature".

Any person that doesn't grow out of the "state of nature" are considered "savages", and that is how we separate ourselves from those individuals. This doesn't mean that when a person chooses to enter into the "state of nature" hobby that they are considered "savages". It is only applied to those individuals where the "state of nature" is like second hand nature to them. For example, murder, rape, their lack of self-conscientiousness, and incivility are all examples of "savages".

You ask: "Ripoff business model? How do ripoffs keep doing this? Isn't it dangerous?". What makes them different from the Nigerian scammers, or murderers, or rapists? The answer is nothing, nothing separates them because they are "savages". How can there be a business model when they have already breached the "contracts" of the state? These ripoffs keep doing this is because their mindset relates to the "state of nature". When their mindset is on the "state of nature", then they are "savages". "Savages" don't think about danger because it is in of them.

So, what can a hobbyist do to prevent being ripoff? Well, you start with reviews Good reviews are essential. I only gave you the root of why there are people like this in the world. They are not like you and me Here is another example from an Indian tribe's story about "savages": a scorpion asked the wolf to let him ride on his back to cross the river, and the wolf said '"yes"'. In the middle of the river, the scorpion stings the wolf. The wolf asked the scorpion, "Why did you sting me? Now we will both drown and die". The scorpion's response was, "I can't help it, its in my nature".

I'm usually not this detailed in a response, but there have been some previous threads pertaining to this same subject, and I thought I would try to explain my own theory behind this. If there is anything that you can take away from this thread: that is to only see well reviewed providers, and if you take one for the team, then be prepared for all of the possible outcomes

As the seasoned TER members know the whole "I dont see Black Men" preference of some ladies has been discussed more than several times.  There are a host of reasons ladies have this preference from the legitimate to the ridiculous.  

With that said, I have gotten from several reliable sources and experienced myself, as I'm a Black man, one of the reasons a lady will not see black men is because they are scammers and the perception, real or imagined, is that a black guy will not settle for just walking away when lady takes his cash and says OK we are just going to talk.

Of course this presents the introduction to a host threads about steretypes, racism, etc, etc, etc.  I only point out the "benefit" of some ladies who do not see black men for this reason saves us black guys, sometimes, from getting scammed.  I say sometimes because I was a victim of the scammer Hoe in my early hobby days.

give us the name and the details and a website.  Those who don't have VIP can't click on your reviews and see them.  Give us the details.  The more info you provide the less of a chance she'll take more people.  It'll still happen but it'll lower the money she'll make.
