It seems as though there has been a decline in the number local indies, as well as touring ladies who used to visit the area regularly.
My suspicion is that many locals have lowered their profile or gone totally UTR.
I wish that they would surface more often.

fewer ladies tour here because DC has a rep of unreliable hobbysist...cancelations  & NCNS....3 of my faves have quit DC altogether...use to be a great tour for them but is a money loser now...2 very well reviewed babes who recently toured here left pissed as hell...almost all their appts either cancelled at the last moment or simply never showed up.  jIt's a real shame as this area use to be amoung the best.

I will certainly come there for as long as there's an interest. I like DC and the men there are very nice too.

Also, I again have to mention my info, anecdotal though it is, screams that no shows and business so not good from coast to coast.

Business for providers is slower in the summer months do to vacations nationaly. Now throw the depression into the mix and we have porn stars escorting at BackPage rates (see LA boards).

Business aint good here and it aint good anywhere else either from what I can find. In some locales, its truly grim. No shows are always a downside of the industry but not special to DC. They are a reflection of DC sadly, as they are elsewhere.

So what to do? As always it's a people business people. Treat each client with respect and provide the best service possible without going outside your limits but never do anything that makes you uncomfortable or compromise your rules. At the end of the day it will seperate you from the competition.

This is my first post on this board, as I prefer to stay well elow the radar.  I recently signed on so that I could be of assistance to the ladies and gentlemen that have questions about our area.

Personally, I work part time in the private sector, and only visit with a few gentlemen per week.  I have known most of my gebtlemen callers for years, but do visit with new ones from time to time, as well as "newbies".  We all have to start somewhere.  Also, many of my dates are social as well: dinners, overnights, and travel.

I think the DC environment breeds cancellations.  Most of my gentlemen are not employed  9-5, and last minute issues can, and do arise.  If they do cancel, most drop off part of my gift sometime that week.  I never ask; they just do.  Or, they make up for it when they see me next.  No shows have no excuse.

You are correct regarding the ladies who visit.  One lady I have been in contact with for years, had three days full of dates, and only four came through.  In the district, that barely covers your hotel room. She told me that over half were no shows.

I know this is a very long reply, but the bottom line for me, is that while I appreciate all the gentlemen that participate on this board, and others, I keep well below the radar because I do not want/need reviews. I feel that what goes on between a lady and a gentlmen should stay between the two. I do participate with two screening sites, and am always happy to give okays, etc.

I only have a basic membership at this time, so I have limited access.  Enjoy your day.

Unreliable clients, cancels, no shows are hurting the local market in general. The regulators are only affecting limited areas.

I'm a newbie, and have only seen two providers so far, both agency girls--but I would really like to go independent.

I'll take this opportunity to get something off my chest.

From time to time, a potential visiting lady would post to ask if anyone would be interested in seeing her. We would see post after post telling how great she looks, encouraging her to come. I always wonder how many of them would actually make an appointment. So, guys, unless you are pretty sure that you would call, don't say anything.

I have had my regular independents retire or stop coming here so i have been going to agencies. I would rather have a dependable independent preferably UTR. My problem is I have no idea how to find a UTR since they are UTR, chicken and the egg.

If anyone can clue me into a way to meet a UTR I would appreciate it, please PM it. Thanks.

I have to say I haven't been in this "biz" long but that/last summer is drastically different than this summer. Same for last minute cancellations, indecisiveness and ncns....has .only gotten worse.

There's nothing about this area or its hobbyists that inherently causes more cancellations and no shows.  I don't buy the argument that there are more here than other places.  I particularly don't buy the argument coming from well reviewed ladies, almost all of whom, when they come here, require references and/or personal info to set up an appointment.  I doubt that someone is going to cancel willy nilly on a provider who has his personal info and/or the ability to spread negative info on him within the provider community.
If this was such a bad climate for providers, there wouldn't be a constant flood of agencies and indies coming here, not just once but repeatedly.  I suspect that some of the women who claim they had unsuccessful trips because of cancellations or no shows probably just didn't get as many bites as they thought they were going to get and want to offer an excuse for that.  I'm not say that cancellations and no shows don't happen.  I just don't believe they happen here any more than any other area.  

I know that in the past I have given one of those "sure!" responses, only to see the girl then come visit for three days in a week that is insanely busy for me.

Other times I've been willing to move heaven and earth to see a girl who makes one of those posts, only to have her ignore my follow-up e-mails and never visit.

Essentially the girl is asking "would you fuck me?"  It's almost useless to everybody involved, but I do appreciate the eye candy and expectation.
