Prince George's County, Maryland…The Prince George's County Police Department's Narcotics Enforcement Division is proactively investigating crimes of prostitution, human trafficking and solicitation.
In August of this year, the Narcotics Enforcement Division began focusing more intently on these "quality of life" crimes. Due to the close geographical proximity of the county to many tourist attractions, there are a number hotels off of every beltway exit. The ease of access to local hotels is an attractive set-up for those engaged in the prostitution lifestyle. Many of those arrested reside out-of-state and have traveled here to conduct their business because of that reason.
Detectives gain information about these crimes from several sources to include citizens, patrol officers, debriefing arrestees and scouring the internet. Since August, Narcotics Detectives have apprehended a total of 153 individuals involved in these crimes.
"We have zero tolerance for this type of activity. We will not allow people of that caliber to set-up shop in our county and bring down the quality of life of our residents", said Chief Roberto Hylton.
The Prince George’s County, Md. police department is getting "proactive about prostitution." And it's got some interesting theories about why that's necessary.
According to PG County police, the county's "close geographical proximity" to "many tourist attractions" has blessed it with a bounty of highway-accessible hotels. But could these hotels be too accessible? Apparently, "those engaged in the prostitution lifestyle" harbor an insatiable attraction to the county's lodgings, and even travel in from out of state "to conduct their business because of that reason."
This potential boon to the county's hospitality industry also, unfortunately, threatens to "bring down the quality of life of our residents” due to the low "caliber" of the out-of-town guests, PG County Police Chief Roberto Hylton said in a press release. "We have zero tolerance for this type of activity," he added.
Since August, the department has taken 153 people of that "caliber" into custody for prostitution-related crimes. Is your life better yet?
Seriously, has anyone seen the "caliber" of people in PG lately? With a murder rate equal to baltimore city maybe they should focus on some slightly more severe crimes in that particular region.
Many of my friends say the same thing. When they go home, they know they dont have to fight the wifey to give in tonight, etc. All in all I believe the job I do has helped Many Many guys live a less stressed life. We are human.
We crave TLC, a humans touch. Live without that and your quality of life wont be the same as a guy that "releases" by more than HIS hand.... That being said.... I love my "job"..
Yes there are the bad ones that rip guys off and that burns me to no end.. There has to be a way to make everyone happy....
