i recently read a new review by a guy who was taken by the old "loaded gift card" scam. I'm SMH while reading this poor sap's review thinking to myself, "how did he fall for this obvious scam?" So I wanted to post this thread to share some insights in hopes that it might inform fellow "travelers." I have been hobbying for approx. 4 years and here are some lessons I learned on, to borrow from an old KRS-One song, How Not To Get Jerked.
*The loaded gift card scam - Please this is such an obvious scam, no one should fall for this. If a provider requires you to "donate" a gift card by giving her the card and pin #s of a loaded gift card before you see her, she (or whoever it is b/c they could be any grifter) is scamming you.
Early in my hobbying adventures I almost had to learn this the hard way. I contacted a "provider" off of BP (a good rule of thumb, always avoid BP) we communicate strictly through texts, she directs me to where she's staying and before I go up she tells me to get a gift card (with $2Cs on it) from the CVS around the corner and proceed to X floor where she will meet me. Hmmm, ok this doesn't sound right. I get the gift card, text her and she asks for the card and pin #. No way I'm doing that, I text her a photo of the receipt instead and she responds with some excuse. I bail b/c this is a scam, thankfully I was able to use the gift card a year later to transfer the amount on it to a VISA prepaid card that I used on a trip to Canada.
*Pictures are TGTBT - So you're browsing Eros one night and a new smoking provider is visiting the area, she lists a phone # to text, but no website and the number doesn't pop up on TER. This is likely a scam, the pics are TGTBT b/c they're probably misappropriated from an instagram page or some website that posts model photos. You can do yourself a favor and search the fake pic using a reverse image search engine like Tineye.
*Spotting fake reviews - You're looking for some action and you find a hot looking provider's ad on escort cafe or a similar site. You search the phone number in the ad on TER and an effusive review (or 2) comes back with high scores, you're ready to jump at this...but wait a minute. Admittedly, there is no full proof way to sniff out fake reviews but there are some tell tale signs that a review is a sham. Here are some things I look for when making my smell test: (1) Provider has limited number of reviews and every "box" is checked in the "services offered" section of the providers profile page (e.g., swallows, bj no cover, anal, squirts, msog, dfk, lick the V) to me this is similar to Benford's Law in accounting fraud detection, what's the likelihood of a provider being this amazing? Very low; (2) Provider has limited number of reviews by hobbyist(s) who have only one review, unfortunately this happens but grifters will setup a TER account to write a fake review; and (3) New provider has her first review from reviewer who has written many first reviews. How can someone frequently strike gold and discover a lot of hot newbie providers to produce their first review? This screams to me that the reviewer is a pimp.
There are probably more scams out there that I'm forgetting, but hopefully these can help.

Is the best way to keep time wasters and blacklisted hobbyist away. When they keep messaging you and you don't want to see them pull the prepaid appointment option and they stop contacting you. Works like a charm
A few years ago I scheduled with a provider and when I got to the room and before I knocked I can her her on the phone.
She was yelling / leaving a message to a prior hobbyist. I can hear her say "there is no money on the card you gave me!" Obviously she was new at this and got duped - felt bad for her and obviously paid in cash. Lesson learned and saw her ad a week later saying "cash only"... LOL!
Same time that as was running in DC, exact format was advertised in other cities, just different name and pics. Good chance the scammer wasn’t even physically here in DC.
I normally only like to take cash. But if someone doesn't want to cash and decides to do the prepaid reload, I won't be giving my room number until I am sure the reload pack has the correct donation rate. Whats stopping them from getting a $20 reload pack and showing up to your room with only that?
The best way to avoid that scam is to only see reputable providers.
This is one right here. Supposed to meet this morning and they asked me to get a gift card 15 minutes before the appointment.
That wasn’t mentioned in your Scam Post. Only Buyer beware. Everyone assumed it was the address you had issue with
I think I read through most of the website and find it contradicts with having a studio, but she says she doesn’t have. And she also says text but then says call or text.
Odd that Manta has this business listed.
So may I ask where did you come across her listings? BP has an ad for her. No reviews here but maybe on other sites less reliable than TER or sites that steals information at will?
Someone may find benefit by your limited information but I would suggest sticking with well know reviewed providers, unless you enjoy the game of chance from the unknown, to each his own then.
