I am a newbie to the hobbying world and I am stumbling my way through it. I had my first experience in hobbying through an agency in AC - however in that case I had to pay an initial fee for "companionship" and then was asked for extra tips by the lovely lady who showed up. That has left me a little wary of using agencies in the future. Is that how all agencies work? Or are there agencies that are all inclusive for  the rate? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I cant name a reputable agency who opearates in this fashion. This tatic(normally called upselling) is typical of bait and switch operators.

It is however typical with bait and switch outfis in Las Vegas so Im wondering if the fact you were in Atlantic CIty has something to do with it.

There are several national agencies and none of them operate in this fashion with the exception of girls offering Greek. Just do search of national escort agenies, like Miami Companions or Apres Vous for instance, for some examples.

I would chaulk it up to your good luck if you had a good experience and didnt pay more than the going rate to tell you the truth. From your note though, it sounds like you may have been scamed to some degree.

Also, I would post this on the National Board to see if there are different policies in different areas of the country. Its possible but I doubt it.

First, READ the reviews of any particular agency lady you may want to see. The agency can only be responsible for booking your date and making a good faith effort to make it happen on a timely basis.

What services you do or do not receive are a matter of the unique interaction between you and the lady. YMMV always applies, just as it does with indies.

You are pretty safe from that with agencies here, such as TGND, Prime, Classy, and Elite Girlfriends.  Early in my hobbying career I had exactly that kind of upselling experience with Diamond Companions.  My review was not approved, probably because the girl I saw was not on their site.

Diamond is the agency I alluded to in a previous post inquiring about Candy Companions.  They now share a phone number and seem to be the same operation.  I recommend avoiding both.

Your experience is indicative of what is often termed a "yellow pages" operation. Such operations on the industry hierarchy are below Web based companies. However, those distinctions are holding less and less true these days.

A reputable internet based operation would be "flat fee" oriented. Of course as GoodTimingMan pointed out there can be additional charges by your HMO for seeing a "specialist" over a general practitioner.

It seems that the Agency/pimp/madam/scheduler hooks you in and charges a get to know you fee for the opportunity to hook up with one of there employees.  That money goes to the house and it is expensive. Many newbies get burnt this way. I have seen this in London, Paris and Rome as well.  Then once the lady arrives at your outcall hotel, she tells you that you need to fork out more for her to get paid. They ask you what you want (types of sexual services), each one has a price like a restaurant menu. If you complain or get an attitude, she will likely bail after you have already paid to get her to your room.  You need to make sure with these kind of agencies that you are getting the all inclusive package. But sometimes the small head does the thinking when the cute girl is in front of me, and yes I get upsold. C'est La Vie...
