OK, after the travel-logue I posted on Richmond, I've got one for ya'll:  a provider tells me she's in the "2700 block of NY Ave, NE."  It's been too long since I lived there to remember how good or bad that part of town is.  I still know  basics of where large streets are, and I know NY Ave is a major artery, but should I be put off by the location or not? I remember some parts of NE were pretty bad, others OK.  Thanks!  Goat

...but NY Ave NE is Rt 50 & Rt 1, and the location in question is near the intersection of Bladensburg Rd. Appears to be a long, low building more or less across from the National Arboretum. I'm not familiar with any providers there, but perhaps someone more knowledgeable than myself can fill you in...

There are a lot of motels in that part of town. I wouldn't be wary, or fail to go, but I *would* be extra careful.

Also, depending on when you go, there may be a fair amount of (unrelated) police activity.  I've lived in cities all my life, so it takes more to spook me than most, but I'd be comfortable there; just use some common sense and be aware of your surroundings.
