You will have more info about how to proceed. With most agencies, they will require many things, such as handle, references, and verification sites. As with indy's, they will also have similar practices.

Maybe someone will recommend you an agency or indy here in DC that will accommodate you. But, since you are new, I would recommend that you pose your question on the newbie discussion board to help further your success. Besides giving you recommendations of providers, they will also give you appropriate steps and methods to book a session. Anyways, good luck, and I hope someone does recommend you a good provider.

Indy likely better for first-timer.  You'll still want to get P411 or whatever certified.  

Btw, P411 is good about listing "newbie-friendly" providers. Also check out the FAQ for newbies board here on TER.

Also,  are you verified?

If not, get verified with a verification service like datecheck / p411 / rs2k. Makes things much easier since you will most definitely want to see ladies who do screening.  I never gave out my work info to any agency or indy... except for the indies that have become friends, but that's different. Using verification service limits your personal info to just 1 or 2 places. Don't ever give out any more info than you have to. It may come back to bite you one day esp in this crazy LE infested area.

As for going with an agency or indy, might be a personal choice for you. I went with an indy when I first started out but the difference seems minimal in terms of performance. Going with an indy will give you a more personal connection though since you'll be talking to her from beginning / after, unless she's using a booker.  If an indy is using a booker, the difference between agency / indy becomes even less and boils down to good reviews / price, imo.

Also, unless you're using an agency that primarly books famous porn stars...
in general a higher-price / lower-volume Indy girl is less noticed from LE than a high-volume agency girl who sees 8 clients a day in the same hotel room.

Might be some more pros/cons in agency / indy, but my eyes hurt from surfing the web too long and I need a drink
