Final nail in Eros' coffin

As others have said, Eros continues to get more and more riddled with scams and fakes every day. I used to go to Eros almost daily to browse the What's New in the area. Now I barely visit twice a month.

Yesterday was one such visit, and I was immediately greeted with a pop-behind ad page that even my firefox couldn't stop.  Upon closing the Eros window and the pop-behind, there was a third smaller window hanging back there as well.

So, scam riddled listings, and now windows that might not be easily and quickly closed by those who may be discreetly browsing?  Good luck with that.

Time to run my AdAware.

I won't be going back.

I get impatient with the self-importance I see on this discussion board. We are talking about prostitution. Escorts advertise on all kinds of sites: eros, back-page, CL - whatever works for them in running their business. Nobody cares if you don't want to use eros. It's like you gave up drinking Budweiser and wrote a post that was headlined "Final nail in Budweiser's coffin." If you don't like Eros, that's your right. I doubt they are losing any sleep over that.

This is a discussion board on the hobby.  It is perfectly fine if someone wants to disclose another hazard of using a particular ad website -- e.g. popup windows for Eros.  If you don't like the post, just skip over it.  I hate all the Ta-Ta Tuesdays and stuff like that, but I just scroll over them and others may enjoy it.

Peace.

Please spare us your impatients and what seems like your insensitivity  to the industry.  ComradeM's post provided some good information and a potential warning of what can  happen to you while surfing on EROS, especially when others unexpectedly approach you and you have to delete the website suddenly.    The rest of the post is likely this personal attributes  on how he will handle EROS in the future.   Knowing this lets others compare it  with their own  mindset on how we each handle this type of situation ( Male Bonding).  I agree EROS has gone down the crapper since I jumped on the bandwagon 5 years ago.
Personally,  EROS is now a once (sometimes twice)a week visit to find old favorite Indys, but I am glad to know that I will have to be more careful as to when I view the EROS website on account of the possiblity of POP-UPs.  BBBBBBBBMMMMMMMM22,  go get laid, otherwise you'll be impatient for somethng else.

And I discussed something that was bothering me.

When you find a discussion board that every post matches your opinion completely, you let me know, ok?

I am not the only one that is moving away from Eros. They may lose sleep over their decline in hits.

"Whatever works for them running their business" is a moronic argument.  Enron was making mad cash running their business for a while.  So was Bear Stearns.  Not every business model is profitable or sustainable.  You can't expect to grow or even maintain your customer base by doing things that alienate them, and Eros has alienated me, DB11, and many others.

I still look at EROS three or four times a week. I have never experienced a pop up ad. I am probably bypassing the pop ups by entering at the DC home page.

Funny how so many keep complaining about Eros, the only reason they know to complain is that they keep going there.

If you don't see it, it is dead?

Except for following links, I visit Eros maybe once a month or two and never stay long. It it not useful to me.

By the way, I've not seen such "pop-behind" ads. I just tried and didn't see it.

Scams are everywhere.  Eros is not like Preferred411 or Date-Check where the site atually screens the ladies and gents for access to their sites.  We all know Eros is available to anyone with a credit card.  Many other sites are available without any screening to use them too.

I don't see why there is so much complaining about Eros.  It is your job to screen the lady you want to see just as it is ours to screen the gents who want to see us.  If you are not happy with Eros, stop using it and go to P411, Date-Check or even RS2K.  Simple stuff.

If you want to continue using Eros, you have the upper hand because you know there are some scams on there.  I think there are more legit ladies than scarms though.  I did a search myself and immediately saw many ladies I am familiar with.  All of whom are legit.

In regard to the pop ups, I hate them.  I did not have that trouble when I went on Eros.

I also have gotten the pop ups lately and do find that irritating. I think the thing that bugs me about them more than anything else is that they feature scammers permanently front and center. Lindsay, Adrianna and others that they have no doubt gotten hundreds of complaints about, but there they are none the less. Too much money for them to give up on the real paying customers, the ladies.

Im tired of it too, but what can you do?.... I just weed through the fake ones like BP.

I appreciate learning from the experiences of others.

On what's new for Saturday April 24 (limited to female escorts)five out of six have reviews on TER. Mostly tasty talent. Every escort mall site has it's share of B&S and scams. That's what TER is here to identify with reviews or discussion board posts. So stop your griping!

Yes, I still went to Eros despite their high fake rate.

Your post missed the point completely, that they are now doing multiple pop-behinds, and it's enough to make me stay away for good.

And it seems like many responders appreciated my heads-up on the pop-behinds, and that's what TER discussion boards are here for too. So when you become a moderator, you can stop me from 'griping'.
