PROSTITUTION ARRESTS LINTHICUM On May 4, 2011, members of the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Vice Unit executed a search and seizure warrant on a hotel room located in the motel/hotel district in Linthicum. The execution of the search warrant was the end result of numerous complaints of prostitution taking place at the hotel. The investigation revealed that a prostitution operation was being conducted from the hotel room. It was learned that a male subject was controlling the operation and that he had brought the female subject to the hotel from Boston, Massachusetts for the express purpose of prostitution. Further investigation indicated that the male suspect was utilizing the internet and the website Backpage.com to solicit customers for the female. During the execution of the search and seizure warrant, detectives seized one laptop computer, four cell phones and $3,541 in U.S. currency. The male suspect is also a registered sex offender in the State of Massachusetts for Inducing a Minor into Prostitution.
Do not allow yourself to be followed by anyone in the elevator. I visited a provider in the BWI area about two months ago. When I walked in the lobby of the hotel, I noticed a balding middle-aged man wearing a dark blue windbreaker--the kind you see on LE--and reading a newspaper on one of the lobby sofas.
When I got the call about 15 minuted later, I entered the elevator and pressed my floor button. That middle-aged man suddenly jumped into the elevator behind me and exited on the second floor. If he was LE, he was checking to see what floor I had pressed.
