.. I seem to drive by a cop within a block or two of the hotel. the first 10 or 12 times it happened, it freaked me out. That "everyone is looking at me" feeling as you walk into the hotel or drive down the road. I think they are just out there and around alot and we tend not to notice when we are going about regular day to day business but notice them immediately when proceeding to a hobby visit.
Having said that, however, I want to emphasize what an earlier poster said -- if you are not comfortable, you should not go forward with the activity. It sounds like you acted true to your feelings and concerns, which can never be criticized.i just went to an out from a gentleman that called me yesterday and told me he would be interested in seeing me today. so he called me about an hour ago and i headed out to see him as i arrived to his neighborhood i see a police car parked at an apartment complex a couple of blocks away i said oh fuck
but still proceed to my destination my gps says make a right on courthouse another oh fuck then make a left i say ok kul the place is like 5 blocks from the first 2 police cars. so as i pull up to his apartment
theres another police car and down at the far end another police car they had the road blocked off.
so long story short i drove off came back to the safety of my room and called the gentleman he said i told u that they are having a festival and the police is here at my apartment and i said no u didn't or i
would have declined. so my question is would u go to an outcall with the police clearly present in the
neighborhood or am i being overly paranoid.
if I came to you and saw that I would leave as well. Sounds to me like you made a good choice. Stay Safe
It's the police that you can't see that you have to worry about. Not the ones out there in plain sight.
I go to incalls all the time where there are police present, it doesn't bother me in the slightest. 99% of the cops on duty are out there to keep us safe, the one percent trying to put consenting adults in jail are almost always lurking in the shadows, and are rarely in plain sight.
If you ask me, law enforcement need not be a concern if you are thoroughly screening your clients. Having reputable references, and setting yourself up for a safe/comfortable experience is the best thing you can do.
I will say that I think it's healthy to be cautious and aware of your surroundings. I have always said that some level of paranoia is a good thing. Ultimately, I think that researching your clients and verifying them is the main issue though.

I hear many ladies won't do outcalls to apartment complexes unless they are familiar with the client.
Not that I in any way think you were walking into a sting.
But you felt uncomfotable and you trusted your internal alarm system and aborted the session.
That is always the right thing to do. Even, like in this case, you were at no risk.
The fact that the presence was so obvious pretty much indicates you were not walking into a sting.
But the bottom line....if it doesn't feel right....run !
I totally agree with the others. You trusted your gut and your instincts; in a situation like that if you stay there is the possibility maybe remote that something bad could happen. By leaving you took that possibility totally away.
Trust your feelings, women's intuition and all that. Police cars or no police cars, if he misinformed or lied to you, then another good reason not to go through with it.
Your safety at the end of the day.
They'd be more stealthy than that. The gent should've warned you. And I doubt they would do a bust that way.

years ago. I was going to an appt. with a visiting provider I regularly see & she was staying in a hotel in Center City DC. It happened to be National Law Enforcement Week, when literally thousands of police & other peace officers come to DC for most of a week for a series of events, including a service at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. When I got to the hotel several minutes early, the place was crawling with uniformed LE officers; I hung around in a courtyard outside the hotel for a bit then got the room number & went in; the uniforms were everywhere! I kept mentally saying 'They have no jurisdiction' over & over, and I knew they were no threat, but it did raise the nervous factor significantly.
As another poster said, LE that is very visible is not a threat, if there is vice looking to bust hobbyists you won't see them until it's too late.

Many apartment complexes offer free or discounted rent to police for exactly what concerned you - safety. They are usually off duty but bring their car home and it tells potential criminals to stay away.
