I took several plunges over the last few months. One was discussed here on the boards.....

3dtvs

After alot of posts back and forth I did it.
I actually LIKE the technology for what it is. Do I want to sit and watch this 24/7? No...But as a treat its nice to sit and watch a 3d movie in your home and there is a whole bunch of movies created just for the systems. You need a special blue ray player but they have dropped dramatically in price and everyone should make the switch from standard dvd to blueray anyway IMHO.
So yeah, if you have been thinking about it, now is the time since its after xmas and all the prices went down.

Smartphones

I have had two phones for a while now. I have been an avid blackberry user and everyone (EVERYONE) sort of beat me over the head to get an iphone. I decided to have both to see the pros and cons. I could NOT let go of the BB entirely because it holds sentimental value and has a private email option I could not let go of, yet I could not be the only person on the planet without an iphone. Let face it, if you are going to have an ipod anyway, you might as well have an iphone (especially since my ipad fell into the crapper a while back).
This is what I think....
the iphone is a great toy, full of apps and wonderfully made because its an apple. Its GREAT for music and certain things.....but the blackberry is still a favorite for email and texting. When i got the iphone I was told I would get used to the touch screen texting....so I held out. You DO get better at it. But I did notice that there is a delay that the blackberry does not have. If you text with an iphone the receiver does not get it as quickly as the person with the bb. And email? BB has its own email which is safe and also very fast. Iphone again is slower and has no personal email attached to it.
My friend went through 4 phones in december: theiphone, the iphoneS (what in gods name is the difference??), and two types of droids. The last phone is the one she settled on...some sort of droid with an attached keyboard and two cameras (why do we need TWO cameras??). She loves it....and found faults with all the other phones.Never tred the droid...have any of you? A client of mine actually had the droid that has a 3d camera....very cool but do the printed pictures come out in 3d?
Back to the iphone and BB.....
While I think the iphone is a great phone I still think the bb is better (except the battery SUX REALLY BAD).
I like them both for different things so its hard to now go back to one phone...at some point I will def have to choose because I hate carrying two.

Toothbrushes

I use an electric toothbrush...LOVE IT. Will never go back to the old fashions....now I see that sonics have a big nitch and cult following (the iphones of the toothbrush world)...they do not rotate....I guess that somehow makes me wonder how it can do the job. Yet alot of reviews say they are better in the long run...in fact 80-90 percent rate them higher. Lost here...the one I am looking at is like 200 dollars...as opposed to a 40 dollar electric. Is it worth the extra money?
If any of you use one let me know because I am turning into a brushaholic and need the latest gadget...but dont want to waste the money if its bs.
Has anyone TOFTT here?

A lot of dentists seem to recommend oralB. The one that rotates rather than sonicvibrate. My dentist claims that mechanically removing plague works better if there's an actual brushing action rather than an ultrasonic light vibration. But different dentists might have different opinions.

I broke two of my sonic care brushes after I brushed in the shower while drunk and I accidentally dropped it. lol  Those seem to break more easily due to the thin brittle metal bracket that transfers the vibration energy up to the brush. (Yeah I actually took it apart and saw what was broken) So now I have an oralB that both vibrates and rotates. Dropped that too but didn't break as easily.  Tooth has been squeeeeeky clean.

I have an iphone for work and android phone for personal. Both are quite nice especially iphone4s siri feature.  Android phone has more features and is highly customizable though. On the iphone it is harder to do this without jailbreaking.

a good friend said it worked for him....and I could not figure out how just sonic waves could be better then actual rotating bristles.
You might think its not the forum for all this but, so far I got a great wine suggestion and alot of input on 3d tvs. The community here goes beyond PFP :)

3DTV- The TVs in my house are as deep as they are wide, meaning, if I hung them on the wall you'd have to walk around them instead of infront of them.

Smartphones- I still use that tan brick with the antenae sticking out. Email and taking photos with it? Are you fucking high?

Toothbrush- Those are those things the dentist gives me when I go on occasion. I usually just put a little paste on my finger, rub it around, then take a swig of my first beer of the morning for gargle.

I have been pretty much UTR due to an overseas family member becoming very ill. Just went on to TER to catch a break and see your post here. Things have calmed down and I can now deal with a backlog of promises...

Here are my recent holidays electronics purchase experiences.
!)  Still have my BB even though it has issues. I tried but could not get used to Iphone or Shmyphone. I started having arguements with Sari. I was saying sorry to sari or sari ro sorry...Whatever! I need my BBM! Iphone4S is with a female relative far younger and more adept at its "apps" (Are "apps" like "cyclops"?)

2) Got a 60 something inch screen for a new Xbox that does make the floor move beneath my feeet with 6 surround speakers. No 3D yet for me. The only thing I want to feel in 3D is Cara when she returns my way! :)

3) I got the Sonic tooth brush and it works for me! With Rembrant toothpaste, it gives me the feeling of a dentist's cleaning.

Speaking of electronics, the current LV AVN event and this being the proper venue, my dear sensual queen please tell me...What new electronic erotic toys are out there? I am still waiting for something that can beam you back here!!! Scotty, where are you when I need you???
