Is there an advantage of staying in Dupont Cirlce over Georgetown...

In addition to Metro, also within walking distance of other neighborhoods like downtown, Woodley Park, Adams Morgan, etc.  Georgetown is sorta out there by itself, and without a Metro, can be a tad isolating.

But honestly you can't go wrong either way.

Metro convenience is a good thing. Georgetown was too good to allow the Metro to come into their neighborhood (that line must be spoken with your nose in the air) Fear of the unwashed invading you know.
