Do providers ever really retire???

The consensus seemed to be that the providers can do whatever they want, however they want, and whenever they want.

But it was discussed that some may use retirement as a marketing tool to create urgency so they can ratchet up business in the short term.  Or some retire for legitimate reasons but end up back in this business because real life didn't work out for them.

Remember, nobody hooks just because they like sex.  If so, they wouldn't charge $$$.  Anybody who refutes that statement is absolutely lying.  It's all about the $$$.

but some people do enjoy their chosen profession to the extent they would work(and do) even if there was no financial reason to do so.

There arnt very many people lucky enough to do exactly what they want to earn a living but, like true love, it does happen. LOL

Just wondering because of the recent post about increased libido and retirement specials

but then I remembered about this post from Oct 12th, about Retirement / Last time in DC:

I do not mean to pick on Piper (AZ). This is just the most current example, and by all indications she is an amazing provider, and the last day of her tour here falls on the 96th day she mentioned in her first post.

The thing is, I seem to see this kind of thing a lot (providers retire for a few weeks or a few months, and then they're back).

Any good jokes out there using the old standard, "providers don't retire, they just..."

I was just wondering because you HAVE to work to make money right??  So do providers.  I happen to love what I do.  I enjoy having sex with multiple partners.  I enjoy the money I make too.  So what?  Do you enjoy your job?  Do you enjoy the money you make doing your job?  Well I do.  So don't be too hasty with your assumptions my dear.  You are way off base.

As for the first half of your statement.  I agree.  Some providers may use retirement as a marketing tool while others may sincerely retire only to return because they need the $$$.  There's nothing wrong with that either.  Let's say you retire.  Then you make a bad investment or whatever... Something happens in your life that forces you to go back to work.  Should you be scolded or ostracized because of it?  No.  Nobody works because they LIKE to work.  No matter what their profession.  We work because we must earn a living to survive.  If we could all win the lottery, non of us would be working!

BTW: I CAN pretty much do whatever I want when I want.  It's a wonderful job.  And in case you haven't noticed, this is REAL life with real live people participating in it.

PEACE!

Enjoy your day!  Betty xoxo

In that first post I also said I was retiring in 96 days- that was mid-Oct. :) The one thing I didn't count on is my (more than normal) out of whack libido!!! ;)

I do not see why this issue seems to come up so often.  Providers are no different that any other workers in this regard.  I have a coworker who has announced his retirement at least 6 times in the past 12 years.  He was still at work today.

My father retired and moved twice.  Both times he was back working in less than a year.

Retirement is not what many people think it will be.  Retirement money sometimes does not go as far as they expected.  Spouses decide they do not want you underfoot every minute of every day.  There are many reasons.

But to answer your question, yes, people retire.  Providers retire.  Every day.

I'm glad to see that this thread did not turn into a bash Piper or bash Retiring Providers thread.

I too saw Piper's initial post last fall announcing her retirement and after reading some of her reviews I scheduled an appointment when she was to pass thru Boston in early Oct.  Sadly, I later had to cancel due to a family emergency.  I thought I had lost my opportunity to see this incredible woman.

As luck would have it, a business trip in December put my in Chicago at the same Piper was there and I was able to reschedule.   Am I glad I did!  What ensued turned out to be a wild night as only Piper can provide.  I've tried several times to start a review but there is nothing I could say that hasn't already been said and anything I wrote sounded like hyperbole which wouldn't be believed by the members.

I don't view Piper's "announcement" as a marketing ploy at all.  Piper has amassed a phenomenal list of reviews with many more admirers who haven't written one.  By giving us 96 days, it not only allowed those friends, which there are many, who wanted to see her again a chance to book with her.  The long lead-time also gave someone like me a chance to find out what all the fuss was about.

I don't doubt her announcement at all.  What she shared with me about her next career, she couldn't be better suited for.

As luck would have it she is making one more stop in Boston and I hope to be taking advantage of that opportunity too.

Seriously, hornier and a greater libido?   Is that physically possible!??
