Hi Layla!

It's always nice to see visiting providers! I hope you enjoy your time in the area.

(Please excuse any typos, much of this is copy/paste)

For touring here, I would recommend spending a few days in D.C. and a few days in Tyson's or Arlington, VA. The most popular places to host in D.C. are typically Dupont Circle or Downtown D.C.

If you can, I would also recommend visiting the BWI airport area. Colloquially, these 3 are collectively termed as the DMV - but each area is fairly distinct in terms of client base and accessibility, though there is crossover. As an added bonus, if you visit these 3 areas you can post ads for your dates in the three respective locations (using the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia ad boards). Doing so will increase your exposure in multiple markets. You do not need a car to visit here; Uber, Lyft, and the WMATA metro rail + bus system should suffice for your transportation needs.

In terms of places to go, there are activities and places of interest for anything you love. You did not specify any hobbies or interests in particular, so this is just give a broad overview.
Of course, you can take your pick of any Smithsonian on any almost any subject that you find interesting. If you like art, I would suggest the Phillips Collection, the National Gallery of Art, or the Freer Sackler Gallery. The Hirshorn Museum and National Building Museum often have very interesting exhibits. If you like sports, D.C. boasts an extensive array of professional teams. For live theater, the Kennedy Center is a focal point of the arts scene. However, we have smaller theaters like the Warner Theater,  Shakespeare Theatre Company, and Wolly Mammoth Theatre. If you enjoy live music, I would suggest looking over the schedules at the 9:30 club, U Street Music Hall, Blues Alley, DAR Constitution Hall, The Howard Theatre, The Anthem, Clarendon Ballroom, and the Fillmore Silver Spring.

Lastly, for restaurants, it would greatly depend on the area you are in. D.C. obviously has the widest selection of cuisines. Again, it would be helpful to know what type of food you enjoy.
On the higher end of dining experiences, I would suggest MiniBar, Blue Duck Tavern, Metier, and Kinship - you should make reservations ahead of time if you would like to visit any of them. Some of my other favorite places are Bourbon Steak at the Four Seasons, Filomena, Sushi Taro, Izakaya, Jack Rose, 2 Amys, Ghibellima, Barcelona Wine Bar, and Iron Gate. Some new restaurants to the D.C. scene that you may enjoy - Nobu or Kith and Kin (make sure you check out the Waterfront if you have time- it's so nice!) Denson's Liquor Bar is a great hidden speak-easy style place. I also love Ice Cream Jubilee and the butter cake at Del Frisco's Double Eagle is absolutely made by the hands of agenls.
If you favor a sort of party-while-you-eat experience, perhaps visit RPM Italian, Toro Toro, or Marvin. For lively bars try Eighteenth Street Lounge, The Park at 14th, The Graham rooftop, or  POV Terrace at the W hotel downtown.
In Tyson's Corner, I love Wildfire and often grab drinks at Eddie V's (they have live music and a nice bar, though the food usually leaves much to be desired). There is a Season's 52 there as well.
Unfortunately, I cannot speak to places in the BWI area. I usually order room service wherever I am there.

Should you choose to spend some down time relaxing, I would recommend the Spa at the Four Seasons or Equinox Spa at the Ritz Carlton.

Feel free to email me if you would like recommendations for more specific things to do/places to stay/restaurants to eat at.

This is the absolute best ever! I literally came on the board because I was about to ask the exact same thing.

I went to DC for the first time ever in December and wasn't sure what to do. I did buy myself a ticket to go to the 9:30 club which was awesome!! However, I did miss everything else you recommended.

I'll be back in DC next week Feb 1st - 5th with Lilah Haze, let me know if any of you ladies would like to meet up for a girls night. We really want to have a great time and meet other providers.

A couple of clarifications.  There are now 2 waterfront areas.  The one usually referred to as 'Waterfront' is near the Navy Yard on the Anacostia River in SE DC; the newer one is actually referred to as the Wharf & is on Maine Ave. on the Washington Channel in SW DC.  Both are interesting to visit with several good restaurants.  I would also point out that are (imho) several Italian restaurants better than Filomena; examples are Bibiana near Metro Center & Osteria Morini in the Navy Yard area; at a bit higher price point is Fiola in the Penn Quarter area.  I'd also recommend 2 of Jose Andres's small plates places in Penn Quarter, Spanish Jaleo & Mexican Oyamel, both are excellent.  I'd also add that all the Smithsonian Museums, as well as the National Gallery of Art & the Holocaust Museum, are free, while the very good Phillips Collection in Dupont Circle has a modest entrance fee.  Other than that, very good info from Priya!

Thank you so much! I'm actually going to be staying in Dupont Circle so that's perfect :) I love museums so I'm definitely going to be checking some of those out. Is transportation pretty easy or is it better to uber everywhere?

Ditto to all the above especially Priya.  (Yahoo Priya!). Would just add a couple more bites:  Komi and its extremely spicy Thai counterpart Little Serow, Marcel's & chef's table at Sushi Taro if you want to spend a bit, usually have to book a month ahead though.

Probably too cold now, but DC is very bike-able with all the rent-a-bike stations around and biking about the monuments (Jefferson and Vietnam Memorials) are stunning at night.

Also, if you do like museums hit them all especially since they are mostly free (well we pay with taxes).

If you like nature, bonsai collection at National Arboretum is cool and Great Falls National Park is 10 min from tysons.

Last if planning for the future, DC is at its best during the spring especially the cherry blossom parade weekends with lots of fun weekends prior to the actual parade.

Check out the Georgetown section. You'll be able to get there on the Circulator from DuPont Circle. It's only a $1.

Have a fabulous visit!

Honestly, I think Priya's list is such a good start that it should be stickied for the providers and out-of-town hobbyists visiting the D.C. area. We tend to get this question a lot; plus, an ongoing stickied thread would be a good "one-stop shop" to continue adding to.

Is there a moderator in the house?

Hey, I would like a ride on your Harley. Do I have to be the "B" on the back or can I drive it?

Do you have a spare helmet?

Does it say, "my other toy has tits? "

Is it a BIG HD or one of the small sissy bikes.

Is it Pink?

Does it go real fast, like the Ninja bikes, doing wheelies down the freeway?

Can you do a wheelie?

Thanks for the offer, BTW.
