So, a story and a request for advice. Was with a young provider yesterday and on round two, things suddenly felt much better as I was nearing climax. I realized it felt TOO good and pulled out, to find a broken condom
. I came on her stomach (it was too late to stop at that point). She wasn't freaked out, although I was a little.
We cleaned up and she mentions that she's done porn (brazzers) before starting with the agency she's working for.
But, gets tested every month. Oh boy. I guess you never know the history of who you're with in this game, and that's the reason for condoms...
So, I showered, and did an alcohol wipe on my privates (stings, but I carry them for emergencies...).
The questions: (1) Can anyone suggest a NOVA STD testing center? Reputable is more important than cheap. I'm overdue for that anyway. (2) There are latencies, so when should I go? A few weeks from now?
I'm not really that worried, but will follow up to be sure.
BTW, it was a Magnum Thin. Never had a problem with those before. She got a bit dried out; should have used a little lube at the end.
First urinating immediately (clear the pipes) and alcohol wipe is better than nothing.
Generally speaking you're going to need to wait a week before being tested, if you are to have an issue there is a widow where you "could" (possible) test negative and be positive.
A good site to read up on this is below. Please note, I'm speaking in generalities and I'm not giving medical advise.

If she gets pregnant and decides to have a child, I assume you are prepared to assume parental responsibility.

Vasectomy, so that issue, at least, does not arise.
Stopped at a bar and spent an hour doing scotch on the rocks before my appointment for mine. Then told the barmaid that I had to leave to go get my vasectomy, and would "be back shortly". She said "no fucking way you come back after that". Never, ever doubt this guy. Wasn't there long, local was going to wear off. But I stopped back.
If I hadn't just had a vasectomy, you know, I think it would haqve gotten me laid
Since you're posting under my post and quoting my post I reasonably can infer you're talking to me.
Wow are you really that bored or incredibly needy with your need for public contrarian significance?
Lets stick to the facts:
The OP (Original poster) stated his situation and problem. In his post he expressed concern and anxiety a specifically over STD related issues.
My response, explicitly dealt with only the concerns stated by the original poster.
Then you come along and interject completely unrelated issue at no point mentioned by the OP as one of their concerns? So please take your assumption. because any intelligent person should know the saying about 'assumptions' or Non-sequitur and use it to entertain yourself in wondrous and intimate ways only special to yourself.
Most Sincerely,

Thanks, Lee. I'm not freaking, just want to be properly cautious. I did drink a lot of water, as you said, to clean the pipes. With that and the alcohol wipes, I'm not too worried.
...with my ATF...heard a violent snap, it started feeling too good, and I was paranoid for 6 months
First make sure she has a good supply of plan b pills then get tested regularly.
I've been there too. It started feeling really good but I was dumb not to think the cover had not really broke and I came inside her. I was really worried but things turned well after all
You have to dip the whole thing in alcohol.
I suspect this is a joke, but if you follow this advice, you will not only be in intense pain for some period of time, you will also have done nothing to mitigate the chances that you have contracted an STD. Yeeee-ouch.
Someone has already given you the testing windows, so you should have that information. Drinking a lot of water, well, let's just say I am not sure that is going to do much for you, and is not in any of the literature I have read that suggests it has any value in post-coital unprotected sex prophylaxis. Same with the alcohol wipes.
The main things you'll need to test for are the usual: gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis - i.e., all of the usual culprits in an STD panel. You can do this fairly quickly after the incident, and chances are, the doctor is going to hand you a Z-Pack at the same time as you test. Chances are, as she is tested monthly, you will also turn out to be negative for all of this, but they hand out the antibiotics in this situation as a matter of course.
Now, the big ones: herpes and HIV. I won't comment on herpes, except to say that the usual definitive test is 12 weeks out, at which time the body should have started producing antibodies to that infection. I am unaware of a PCR test that would provide results any quicker, but even if one exists, you'll still need a standard assay at 12 weeks to find out definitively whether you have been exposed or not.
Now onto HIV. The good news is that it is, as a man, not very easy to catch HIV from a woman, especially in a first world, industrialized economy, and the prevalence of circumcision in the US
and other western countries. Most of the transmissions that do occur, contrary to some of the scare campaigns that continue to be conducted, is man to woman (still relatively rare), homosexual encounters, etc. In short, the odds of having caught HIV from this encounter are small to nil, and I doubt any infectious disease specialist would even recommend testing based on this incident alone. However, of course, the only way to be sure is to go ahead and test.
So, we come to the testing windows. Fourth generation tests (those that test for both antibodies and the P24 antigen that appears early in infection - typically before antibodies show up) may be taken two weeks after a suspected exposure. The results of this test are very unlikely to change, and may safely be followed up by a test at 6 weeks - a standard Elisa test (either by blood draw or rapid test). Most people who have been exposed to the HIV virus will seroconvert (average 90%, if I recall correctly) by the six week mark. The combination of these tests will give you a very good idea as to your overall HIV status. The CDC still recommends testing out to 3 months, though some states (such as Mass) recommend only testing out to six weeks. Of course, how and when you test will depend on how anxious you are about the idea - as I said earlier, testing is most likely not even warranted in this situation, but if you'd like to wait the standard 12 weeks, you can do the herpes and HIV tests at the same time, and the results of each will be definitive.
I caveat this by saying that I haven't kept on top of recommended CDC testing windows for HIV, which you almost certainly did not contract, but the last time I did check, they were sticking with the 12 week time period, even though it appears now that six weeks is good enough. Things change slowly, especially testing protocols, even given fourth generation tests.
And that's all I have to say about that. I am not a doctor, so take that into account, I just happen to have done work counseling people in exactly these situations, so I've done a bit of reading on the subject.
Thanks to you and Lee for helpful, informative replies. I appreciate it.
I'm not panicing; I think this will turn out okay, but it will be an interesting 6 weeks or so. I guess the ethical thing to do is to see no providers during that time
. The one thing that will help with that is that I did my taxes today and based on what I seem to owe the Feds, the 6 weeks off will be needed to restore the hobbying budget anyway
yes, Uncle sam gives the ultimate screw job - just had to write a 6 figure check to uncle. With the new higher taxes, the Obama care taxes, and higher MD state taxes, a $300 appointment now cost $566 in pre-tax income.
