Yes Alexandria,Va.is close to DC.(right across the river) Not much in the way of Adult entertainment,though. All the clubs are over in DC. If you want to see local historical sites it is good for that. Easy access from Reagan National Airport and a little bit of a drive from Dulles airport. There is the Crystal City Restaurant which features dancers and is located in Crystal City(located right next to Reagan National) If you want to stay in Alexandria it is quiet for the most part. I live about 10 miles south of Alexandria and lived in the area since 1965.
Alexandria City Hall is about 5 miles due south of the Washington Monument. It's about as close to D.C. as you can get without losing your right to elected representation in Congress.
