Maybe other things of hers should be looked at ? I think there needs to a rule about using copyrighted material outside of the fair-use act and claiming it as your own. Oh wait, didn't our parents back in the olden days call that, lying? Do they even bother expelling students in schools anymore for this kind of bull?http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion_boards/viewmsg.asp?MessageID=249194&boardID=6&page=2#249194 Yanderis Lodos

I understand your point: providers should use their own pictures. However, and sorry if I offend you, but why are you wasting your time posting these topics that are minimal in value?
If the pictures does not resemble the provider, then that is problematic IMO. If the pictures do resemble the provider, then that is not an issue IMO. I appreciate authenticity as it relates to pictures; for example, I want the provider to use her own pictures. However, I am not offended if she used another girls photo that may resemble her 90% of the time.
As I was reading the previous thread (several threads below), the important factor was their reviews; whether it is good or not. I do not think it is necessary to call a provider out when these circumstances occur because it has no real value.
Your thread is minimal in value because there will always be providers that uses another girls photo. It is not against TER policy to use another girls photo (assumption from previous thread below). There are several options: you can choose not to see the provider because she uses another girls pictures on the daily photo theme thread; or, you can see her base on her reviews.
I for one chose to see a provider base on their reviews and pictures. I know that the photos I am looking at may not be the actual photo of the the provider. However, I can read the reviews to determine if the photos are authentic and I can also read her profile. Her profile will often state if the photos are accurate, not accurate, recent, or not recent. Those are the steps I take as it relates to photos.
You waste your time, my time, and other peoples time posting these kinds of threads. Most people already know these things and so it is not necessary to post these topics. I wish you a productive and wonderful day
This subject will be framed by one set of individuals as it is the reviews and likeness which matter. Then you have another set of individuals who believe you shouldn't use fake photos.
This is going to be one of the few issues I'm going to take a strong stand on, probably offensively so.
The issue isn't about likeness. The issue isn't about reviews or performance. The issue is about enabling or suborning lying and stealing. Taking someone else's photos and saying "this is me", is an issue of character. Yes, there's always some "justification" and in the end 'the truth of the act still remains'. Regardless , some of you say 'no big deal'.
Ok, then I guess you'll be perfectly fine if a co-work waits until you finish a big report and then erases your name, puts theirs and submits to the boss. It's no big deal if some national chain decides to use your kids, you, your families photos off your facebook / twitter account for a national promotion because ( insert any justification here). I presume then it will be acceptable to you when your kid tells you they didn't feel like studying for a test, but they got an A anyway because they copied off of someone else paper. I'm sure at that point you'll praise them wont you ( universal tense of the word "you" or substitute ya'll if you want.) ?
What ?
This is different you say ?
Oh really? How ?
In an industry which already attracts a disproportionate share of dishonest people (meanaing the honest ones are outnumbered) I've had to ask myself , where do I draw the line? At what point do I say for myself this is as far as I go and no further.
The photos are someones intellectual property, the OP pointed out, step beyond the line of "fair-use" it is theft. Then to say, it is "me" is a lie. If you need to protect your identity, then get off your mental ass and get creative with your own stuff. I do it every day, the balance of protecting identities vs marketing and it is not easy. Yet, it can be done.
This issue is really a microcosm of what is going on in our society at large. We've become really good at justifying and enabling bad behavior and saying oh it's no big deal. If it's really tragic and pathetic we give them a reality show! We've come to a point where even the media no longer bothers to seek the truth beyond a preselected narrative handed to them in a press release, oh I'm sorry.. talking points. Once upon a time to be a Whistle Blower was an American thing to do. Now, you get smeared, criticized, marginalize or told you have way too much time on your hands, sit down and shut up.
In short, it's all connected, cause and effect rippling out even to this board.
My opinion which none of you asked for, TER should suspended the accounts, hide the reviews for X amount of time when you get caught doing it. A saying by Dietrich Bonhoeffer conceptually applies in this situation.
"Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act."
As for the thread below which is a SEPARATE discussion as far as I'm concerned, my stance is:
"I have nothing to say."
To those who disagree with me, hold to what you believe. To disagree, to dissent and debate is quintessentially American.

There was one instance where I called out a lady using my photos (After a gentleman who went to see her, saw my ad on Eros afterwards, and called to alert me). When I contacted her, she said the following "Honey, I am sorry, but you're so beautiful. I love your photos. And believe me the guys can never tell the difference."
The gentleman who alerted me to her stealing my photos said he could MOST DEFINITELY tell the difference and compared her to a Rottweiler. Probably a little harsh, but he was very upset he was tricked.
Another instance, I saw a lady using the photos of a model/actress from a popular Maxim photo spread (and legally copyrighted material). I contacted her telling her I knew the photos were not of her, and to take them down or I would alert Eros. She told me to mind my business and she wasn't taking them down.
Just the other day, I saw a photo on Eros that was plastered all over FaceBook recently. I recognized it right away.
But alas, if the ladies continue to do it, and still have the money to post ads and so forth it, the practice must work on some level. So the practice will continue.
Kisses,
Vanica
I asked a provider friend of mine, who is one of the most gorgeous women I've ever seen, why she uses fake pics, and she said it's to increase her page clicks- she posts her real pics simultaneously, and she's so damn fine, I doubt than anyone ever complains or leaves...sounds like a dangerous game to me, though- but I met her 3+ yrs ago when responding to fake pics, and I haven't regretted it...ever

Some of my pictures, specially one, are stolen all the time!!!
Sometimes when I'm bored I email some ladies and take the time to email backpage informing about the illegal use and copyright of those pictures... but they never stop
Oh well! At least those who know me, know I am who I am... and the others are fakes...

I saw some images from a modeling website posted in the porn star board one time and I contacted the model via her e-mail posted on the modeling website telling her about it and never saw those images posted again or another ad for that girl and there was a girl here last summer who was posting and saw some of her picture from the same modeling website belonging to a 17 yo girl from Ohio I told Eros and date-check about it and within a week both ad's were pulled.
The thing that is really inane is the site such as Eros and Date-Check have to approve the images before they are posted from what I understand....why don't they Google search the image before they allow the image to be posted to see if it might be questionable? Eros years ago used to have a verified label for girls who would prove that they were in fact the girl in the pics I don't know why they stopped unless it was for legal reasons.
The simple fact remains that usually you can tell when one of these girls are using fake pics if you take 30 seconds to do your homework.
For the most part I'm a laid back person, what you see is what you get. Usually when I meet other industry people I have to over come stories which are just not true however no one ever asks you in the first place.
However, steal my stuff as one independent and two agencies have found out and I make a Hell hound seem tame.
I admit when it comes to defending my intellectual property I'm vicious and those are the months my Lawyer loves me, lots and lots of billable hours.
Just saying, I guess I really didn't have a point did I?

He definitely has a way of sniffing out fake images on EROS. Maybe someone should take on his approach here to help regulate the integrity of theme day threads.
lmao
so we have to do it ourselves. If hobbyists like spindoctor were not staying vigilant, we would not be enjoying the quality hobbying environment that we all participate in. Thank Gawd for Erotic Review and this powerful tool we have to regulate our selves. The average hobbyist on this board is looking out for the rest of us by sharing accurate information. The average provider here understands that paradigm and knows what the boundaries are. In the interest of good business practices, it makes good sense for the provider to play it straight with us.
S0 to answer the provider Galaxxxys - yes, it is small stuff but it makes a big difference. We are setting and maintaining high standards for yours and our own protection. Bad actors. provider or hobbyist, usually get their due, and TER will be the tool that allows that to happen.
