This piece of shit “blackarmor” copied and pasted my old review of Maka for Mia.

What a piece of shit. I reported his review “report a problem”

Mods can you ban this guy?

This is bad for the community and the site

The user "Takengolf" copied large sections of one of my reviews word for word.

I reported it and Admin took his review down. I have no idea if they took any action against him, but they should.

I also PM'd him and he never responded.  No need for shit like this happening.

As long as "free days" are granted, the fake reviewers will continue hoping that they will squeeze through.

Perhaps a nominal fee to have a sign in, and then the ability to do reviews will be granted, where only then, can free days be granted?  After a certain amount (time/reviews/etc), then the account is free?

Just thinking out loud.

Yeah, that type of shit needs to be reported. You might want to follow that up with a Contact Us message to the admins if you don't see it go away or not see some type of response from TER tothe PR you sent.

I wonder if TER has considered looking for some (or developing a simple) plagiarism identification tool as part of the review validation process. I suspect there are some free versions that might be able to be configured to just using it's review DB. That might be nice.

That would be more helpful I think than the reports, though TER is based on the idea of community self-policing. Like fake reviews there is an element of wack-a-mole that will always be present and I don't think we should get too worked up if both are present on the site. Utopias just don't exist in this reality. I do still think that TER is probably as good or better than any other review type sites -- and here I'm thinking Yelp, Amazon and things like Angie's List -- when you look for signal to noise ratios.

It's easy enough to write a very generic fake review with limited information. So I don't understand why some of these guys basically copy other reviews word-for-word.

Usually when I see a lady it's one that I have on my favorites list and I always read their new reviews when they get one. Not sure what others do. So in the case I described above I was reading the review and I thought "shit, this sounds familiar" and I had a feeling it was mine. I went back and read my review again and there it was - whole paragraphs copied from my review. What a dope this guy was.
