   Also, the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is this weekend.  Let's cheer these men and women on!

I am usually very skeptical of charities. Especially mainstream ones such as United Way, Susan G Coleman, Livestrong, and even the International Red Cross. Take Susan Coleman and Lance Aamstrong's Livestrong charities for example. The millions on top of millions raised over the years went to "AWARENESS" as well as lining the exec's pockets including Armstrong himself. Almost zero went to fund research, or even help cancer patients foot the immense cost of treatment. The Red Cross had me fooled that they were legit until I discovered that pocketed nearly all the Katrina and Haiti earthquake donations. I still recall former presidents W.Bush and Clinton on TV appealing to the public for donations. If the circumstances were different, both would be in prison for committing fraud as well as Armstrong.

Fortunately, there is hope with with these more legit orgs that are totally non profit and invest 100% of donations into their cause, not execs, marketing and special interests.

After further research, the Avon walk seems like a worthwhile donation. As a person who has had every member of my family with the exeption of my Mom fall victim to one or another form of cancer, I take this issue very seriousy.

  Also, Monday May 12, the Washington Monument is going to reopen.  Many VIP's will be in attending/speaking, and I have no doubt that traffic will be diverted a good part of the day.
