Ah, Sidney, you are totally wild!

It seems like almost everyone I have seen for the past few years is completely shaved downstairs and has one or more tattoos.  I don't remember when it became the rage in the industry but the shaved pussy thing is something I like and I guess it is happening because most guys like it.  As for tatts, I'm not a big fan but it doesn't bother me either.  I don't think I seen a provider without a tattoo in years.  As for why, I think perhaps girls who get into the business are more wild and bold when it comes to sex and those of the type of girls who usually get tattoos.

I shaved before I was in the business and I had tatts before as well. I wouldnt call myself totally wild but my parents and siblings and friends might disagree lol. I guess I am wild but not reckless. I have found that most guys dont care about tatts, and some do. There is a percentage of guys that will stay aways from a girl completely if she is inked up but really most guys dont  seem to mind.

I have guys that call me just because of my artwork. Mine are art, not little ones pasted here and there,,,and I have always been into ink. Good ink, not cheap ink..there is a difference. For me it isnt a fad or something I got to look cool LOL.

As for the shaved kitty I have always been into it, but I also like a little landing strip as well. When I was in highschool thats what I saw in the pornos my guy friends had on at parties LOL..and I thought it looked pretty sexy. I 1st shaved mine as a senior in highschool, and thats also when I got it pierced! ;-)

There is nothing "normal" about you Ms Starr...you are indeed one of a kind....in a very..very special way!

Ah, Sidney, you are totally wild!

To each his own buy tats on a woman is so unattractive and a HUGE turn off for me. Especially if they are in the bikini line. A womans body is like a piece of art, why the hell do you want to permanently flaw it with some random design that won't mean dick to you in 20 years?  I don't get it.

I believe there are areas that shouldn't be tattooed. My front is totally clear and I don't like them on the thighs or chest but to me because they are MY thing try will mean dick to me in the years to come baby. Point is you don't get something on your body that you are going to not want years down the road. I've had mine for over 10 years and I still love them so i'm halfway there lol.

And if someone feels so strongly against them that's there perogative and it ain't no thing to me. ;-)

I love the smooth look.  I appreciate that my taste buds aren't assaulted by hair, and I will spend significantly more time doing what I love to do with my mouth when it's smooth.  I'm convinced that there's a difference in, um, acoustics during sex when both people are shaved.  It's a win for all your senses.  I think the smooth look has been around since the 1990s, but there are many more women who are doing it these days.

Tattoos are a different story.  I'm not attracted to women who have significant body art, regardless of the quality of the artistry, but I appreciate that it's a personal preference.  I don't mind, and kinda like, small, tastefully done tattoos in hidden places.  It's like finding the secredt toy in the cereal box.

I was going to recommend her to you, but then I re-read your message and realized you weren't actually complaining about the shaving.  But for those who do, she has a really sexy little bush and zero tattoos.

lol, recently I was discussing my love of natural Asian women with a shaved Asian woman I see regularly.  The next time I saw her, she said she had some pics on her phone for me.  One day she'd been cleaning out her hairbrush and the little ball of hair in her hand had given her an idea...she put it down in her lap in just the right spot and took a few pictures of her pussy with its new little bush...haha, I thought it was pretty clever of her...and it was SO sexy.  But she thought it looked so gross that she wouldn't even send me a copy of the pics!

My take on it: It's hard to find a woman ANYWHERE between the ages of 18-25 that DOESN'T have tattoos or piercings.

I think it's less of a reflection of 'wild and bold' and more a reflection of the current generation.

As far as grooming standards go, they seem to vary across the board at any point in time. However, lately, shaved seems to be in due to it's clean cut look (no pun intended).
With so many client preferences to hair vs shaved, I keep a landing strip. That way, I don't look like a prepubescent to those who prefer hair but, there's enough gone for the people who prefer it shaved.

I agree with you regarding the tattoos.  It is a generational thing and it is a fad.  I have one tattoo.  Sometimes I wish I never got it.  But it is there.  It cannot be seen when I wear normal cothing or even if I wear a strapless dress.  This new fad of tattooing oneself is just that, a fad.  Unfortunately, fads come and go.  Having a lot of tattoos is not like going from straight-legged jeans to bell bottoms.  They are permanent.  So many young ladies and men are tattoing themselves at such a young age.  I think many will regret their choices as they grow older.  I am not against tattoos.  I have seen many that I liked.  At the same time, I have seen some pretty terrible ones too.  I foresee a new generation of not tattooing coming soon.  We will all have to wait to see what the passing of time brings.

As for the shaved pussy.  There is no better feeling than to have it shaved smooth.  I love the way it feels and how soft my skin feels each time I shave down there.  I do like to keep a landing strip.  Although here lately my "strip" is more of a "spot" of hair!  LOL  I also appreciate daty with women who are shaved smooth.  It is so much more lickable that way.

The only part here that I don't agree with is that this fad is going to stop. Speaking to friends of mine who work in body modification, it's only getting more extreme and the people doing it are getting younger (or at least as young as you can get with parental consent in any given state). For example, did you know that the use of microdermals (http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Microdermal) and surface piercings (http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Surface_piercings) have increased?

You want to talk permanent? Scarification (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarification) is on the rise too. People who have it are still in the minority in the census of various body modifications but, it's steadily increasing. At least with tattoos can be removed by a laser, if you really wanted to. Scarification, however, is the permanent branding and cutting of the skin. There's no way you're getting that off.

There's my public service announcement on the topic

Oh and PS. To further expand on my point of "this isn't going to end", there's a Church of Body Modification. Seriously. (http://uscobm.com/)

Day Dreamer:

Many women have different reasons for pubic shave or waxing. As I recall it really took off in the 90's with the porn industry and has just stuck. Most of our job applicants already come shaved, which means to me, it's a commonality in the general population.

As for tattoo's, here's an insight. About 70% of my job applicants have small to medium sized tattoos when they apply. On average, I decline a lot of women because they have large god awful tattoos. Bottom-line, my target audience can't stand them and frankly think less of women who have them. Oh sure they'd never say that in public, but in private conversation, they acknowledge it all the time.

From a business prospective when you're full of ink, you've just marred the product and limited your marketability. Granted there are those  providers who will say, but "my guys like my ink". Well, that may be true, however as a "target audience" there are NOT enough of those guys to go around. Then there is the issue of geographic location, social class, psych profile and are the majority one's clients over 30 or under 30.  All of the latter are determines in the question of "marketability".

But I digress.....

With our guys, tattoos beyond on small discreet one is a "negative in their mind" and it's been proven to me time and time again over years. Which is one of many reasons (factors) I have 98.5% decline rate on job applicants.

Now guys under 30 which we don't see..... now that appears to be a different story. As a demographic group they seem to love them along with huge fake breasts.

I've always had a suspicion that most guys in this business were much less tolerant of tattoos than many women in this business think, but wasn't sure.  This seems to confirm that, though.

The independent girls don't get the feedback like you as an agency owner do.  No one's going to email a girl to say "I was going to see you but then I saw your tattoos" since it's too late for the girl to do anything about it.

Over the years, I've tried to explain to more than one independent that most, not all, agency owners who pay attention are in a unique position. Those of us who treat this as a business see which associates have the greatest demand and which don't. Let's put it this way; I know which products sell and which stay on the shelf. I get to observe this dynamic in relation to age, social class, profession, hobbyist, non-hobbyist, and amount of time requested.

A couple of examples:
Within specific professions, you are more likely to get banned than if you are in another.
Clients who prefer day encounters tend to go for younger women under a size 8 however, at certain times of the year, that changes. Gentlemen who prefer older women tend (as a statistical trend) to be evening encounters for us and do multiple hours.

The point is that I get the opportunity to observe what is often called in food service the "product mix". An independent is only going to have contact with the guys that have interest in her specific product offering. A woman who is a size 18, blonde, and 40 years old isn't going to get into a needs discussion with a guy who likes size 4, brunettes, who's into baking apple pies. This simple fact can lead one to a form of what I call "market myopia".

Women who have lots of tattos are only going to be contacted by guys who like them. This can lead anyone  to falsely believe that their niche represents "the market" when it in fact, does not.  The amount of people who don't contact the provider is greater than those who do which, in web marketing, is called an "abandonment rate".  Since I'm involved with another escort business with over 50 websites, I get to see "abandonment rates" on independent AND agency sites in multiple markets. If you actually looked at it, the data will burst a lot of bubbles. I didn't come to these perspectives on a whim.

Lastly, I have observed that there seems to be a psychological profile difference between an agency guy and a guy who see independents. Under specific conditions, this little factor should be considered when trying to understand or predict an outcome.

I'll shut up now.

I'm fascinated by data like this about this business and it's interesting to hear from someone who has it.  I've often wondered, for instance, if girls who have their own websites track which thumbnails get clicked on to see the full picture the most and then replace the ones that get fewer clicks with ones more like the ones with the most clicks that are (presumably) preferred.

But, I've met enough that seem to be doing well if they can just manage to pay the hosting bill on time, so I've never asked.

One thing I found interesting was a girl I know who used to run an agency told me her blonde girls always had the highest demand.  If that's generally true, then it makes me surprised more non-blonde girls don't dye their hair blonde...unless they're not aware of it.  Though, as a brunette lover, I'm glad they don't =)

A lot of guys I talk to are turned off by tattoos, myself included.  Like you say, they will not publicly admit it and certainly will not admit it while with a tattooed lady, but definitely a big tattoo or too many tattoos is a negative.  It undermines the natural beauty of the naked human body (most of the time anyway).  At the very least, it scars her appearance.

In my personal life, I don't like a girl with tattoos, especially big ones (tattoo that is).  It makes me question her character and what kind of decisions she makes in her life.

Good stuff and very insightful.  Just curious, how do your customers feel about smoking ?  It seems the majority of providers smoke, though some hide the smell better than others.

The majority (83 %) of our 'target audience' prefers NON-smoking women. We know this by a direct client survey done in 2008.

Side note:

Oh and .. you smokers... us non-smokers are not fooled. It's in your hair, your clothes, your sweat  and body chemicals.  I can tell you've had a cigarette 3 hours later even after you body spritzer and change clothes.

This one time in band camp......  I petted this couples dog before I met them and I knew instantly the owners were a smokers because I could smell it in the dogs coat.

I agree with everything youve said on the issue of tattoos. Where some of these girls got their ideas about what would be appreciated by men as to body markings is mistifying to me.
Ive taken a pass on several women who intrigued me until I saw the garish marks covering portions of their beautuful bodies.
I think its very sad what these women do to themselvs actually. The chances of tattos that enhance a woman's appearance is almost nil.
Now they can be removed..expensive and results are not guarenteed so why start.
Like Penelope said, sadly its a generational thing I guess.

Having worked in some of the top restaurants in DC, Honolulu and San Diego (I worked as a Sommelier for the past 11 years). I have seen more than my fair share Gentlemen take providers to dinner. Heck, I have had to bite my tongue when a provider (that I had reviewed) and I made eye contact.

Well, my point here is that there is a lot of truth to what you say. The majority these men were/are white collar, educated, well traveled and have a degree of arrogance about them. I hardly ever saw a provider acompany them who was "inked" up. They prefer women who have a swanky instead of a skanky look. An inked/pierced girl would be as out of place there as Rush Limbaugh at the Sturgis Biker Rally.

There was a poll in the Reviewer's Only forum about Tattoos and piercings. I recall that about 35 out of 39 guys who replied, were not in favor of Tattoos or piercings (myself included). Three or four tried to tightrope the issue and split the baby.

It does not matter how tasteful, expensive or expressive. It cheapens the product in my eye. I may catch some flack for this comparison but here goes anyway. Lets take an automobile. Not just any automobile but a beautiful well built work of art like a new Mercedes-Benz SL 550 or a classic Corvette. As the owner of this vehicle, would you cheapen it by putting a bumper sticker on it? No matter how important the message on it is, it is still a bumper sticker and it still cheapens the image of the product.

That is interesting and I totally respect your opinion and thoughts but I have to disagree just a little bit. Lol I have been in this business for quite a few years and my clients are 95 percent over 30 and the regular working man. I have worked in many places and I do pretty well.

Honestly I think if you ask a man, most men should a women get a tattoo they will say no. But most men really don't care. And years ago a woman with a tattoo was a biker chic lol or something of the sort... I am neither. I definitely didn't hail from the trailer park and I fit in perfectly with people without tattoos.

A tattoo does NOT behold you of the title of being trashy or classy. I know women ink free who I wouldn't touch with a homeless mans penis. If someone looks at me and says I  not classy enough because of my ink that person is the one without class to make such a judgement. I am not saying you by no means, speaking in general.

My ink doesn't distract to my canvas and it is totally for me. When I had my one piece if I thought there was a problem and it was getting in the way of my "business" I would have never gotten the one on my back. :-)

This topic is a definite to each their own. I appreciate and respect everyones answers and opinions here.

Crop your tattoos out of all the pictures on your site...then whenever a new client contacts you, email them some additional pics showing full shots of your tattoos before arranging the appointment and see how many change their minds.

Obviously you know that your business is doing well enough with having the tattoos so it doesn't really matter, but it might be interesting to find out how much of an impact they are truly having.  I think you'd find that many would disagree with your "My ink doesn't distract to my canvas" statement.

As the old joke goes -- 'normal' is just a setting on your dryer.  I definitely think that it has become far more commonplace in society at large for both tatts and shaving.  It also goes to reason that both of those issues are even more commonplace in the provider world.

I know that I definitely prefer things smooth and clean down below -- as for the tatts I like them when they are artful -- and I guess art, like beauty, is always in the eye of the beholder.

c'est la vie

which may be how it started. Nothing for those pesky little parasites (aka crabs) to hang onto.

.. and here I thought it was just because it made it easier for you to find it.....

I think tattoos are sexy in moderation. I don't like it when there are so many that the lady looks clothed even while naked.
Jd

BUT I am NOT good w/ pain unless it's "good pain" and heard tats just feel like someone won't stop scratching you....I'll try a lot of things but getting a tat will not be one of them.
