.....most are telling you that renting a car in DC is almost pointless. UNLESS you must absolutely go to Tysons/Northern VA. But be prepared for atleast a 30-45 min trip because traffic is horrendous in Tysons. BUT good news is that as long as you are staying in DC.....DUPONT CIRCLE is only a metro stop or two away with plenty of local and visiting talent.

If I didn't stay in Northern VA I'd play more often in Dupont.

Hi All,

I'm going to be visiting you city in a couple of weeks, and have a couple of questions.  I'm staying in a hotel that says it's within walking distance to all the major monuments.  My questions are:

1)  Is it better to rent or car in order to more easily reach an incall location versus relying on public transportation?

2)  Are Tyson's Corner and Northern Virginia a long car or taxi ride away?

Sorry if these questions sound dumb, but any help would be appreciated.

If you are staying in D.C. "within walking distance to all the major monuments", then you can take a short Metro (see link below for reference) public transportation ride to the Dupont Circle area where there are always lots of incall choices.

If you are staying in D.C. and rent a car, expect to pay a significant daily parking fee on top of the rental car charge.

A rental car in D.C. will indeed allow you cto drive to the Tyson's Corner and Northern Virginia Areas.  But expect on 30-50 minutes commute time to Tysons Corner depending upon traffic....which can be brutal during rush hour times.

Many of the Northern Virginia locations are available via the Metro public transportation.  D.C. cab rides are relatively cheap if you are going to another place inside the city.  But they don't like to take fares out of the city as they legally can't pick up return fares so you usually have to make it worth it to them to take you outside of the city.

Good luck and have fun!

I volunteer 3 days/week at a major museum advising/guiding tourists. The 'within walking distance to all the major monuments' claim is specious at best, as there are no standards.  Be advised that it is nearly 2 miles from the Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial, and there are no hotels within several blocks of the Mall, so what's your interpretation of 'walking distance'?
If you rent a car & are staying downtown, you'll end up paying $ 35+/day for the car and $ 25+/day to park it at your hotel.
Tyson's Corner & most of NoVA aren't that close to downtown.  Tyson's is probably a $ 35 taxi ride from downtown(each way).
So my advice is to concentrate on ladies located downtown, either Dupont Circle or just downtown on their ads.  There are always plenty of them so you should be able to find one or more that you find interesting.  Then, if you are downtown, they might be in walking distance, or a Metro ride away; at worst, a $ 10-15 cab ride.
Don't shy away from Metro; if you were in NYC or Boston, you wouldn't think about getting around much without the subway/MTA.  It's pretty good most of the time. It's not that hard to use, similar to systems in San Francisco & elsewhere.  And it beats walking 12 blocks, or paying $ 15 for a cab to get a $ 1.35 Metro fare away.  Your hotel should be able to help you figure out how to use it.
And enjoy your visit!  Good luck!

Or as I like to call it...Cialis Circle.

Everybody here has given you good advice.

Is that all you really know about your hotel location?  If you want more specific help, tell us the neighborhood or approximate intersection where you'll be staying.

As others have said, don't rent a car just to get laid.  Cabs in DC are not bad, depending on where you are trying get from where, but don't be afraid of the Metro.  However, the odds are pretty good that there will be a lady to your liking available very near where you're staying, maybe down the hall.

The best way to get to Tysons from DC is by Metro Orange line to West Falls Church or Merrifield. From the Metro take a cab the rest of the way to your providers location. Reverse the proceedure to return to DC. It's a little time cosuming but a lot less costly than renting a car or cabing from downtown. Allow yourself plenty of time so you don't run late.

Hey Guys,

Thank you all for your input on helping me get the lay of the land.

Looks like a major intersection would be Independence Ave SW and 12th St SW.  Any additional thoughts?

Also, I'll be happy to return information for Chicago or Vegas if you are ever in my neck of the woods.

Well, I don't think any hotels are within 5 blocks of that intersection, but if you are staying anywhere near there you should have no problem getting to where the girls are by Metro, foot, or a fairly cheap cab ride.  Look for girls who are advertising that they are staying Downtown, in Dupont Circle, or Capitol Hill.

Capitol Hill is not a very common neighborhood for providers, but I sometimes see girls advertising that they will be available there and it would likely be most convenient for you.

Have fun!

L'Enfant Plaza has a Metro stop. You will be able to get to Dupont circle, or Capitol Hill with no problem from there. If you wish to venture out to Tysons corner, take Metro to Falls Church and cab it from there.  be safe!!
