Ladies & Gentlemen.. Providers & Hobbyists...

I'm curious, what part of the greater Washington DC area do you prefer to hobby in?

Looking forward to your input!

but then again I'm a wekend guy - the beltway is hell during rushhour during the week.

I prefer daytime meetings during the week.  A nice hotel near any of the close in or downtown metro stations is my preference.

Tysons or  DuPont Cir. both work for me.   Logan Cir. is OK but not as convenient.  Convention Center area is too deep in traffic. Crystal city a bit far for me.
I would think DuPont would be more fun for the provider, lots of stuff in walking distance.

It seems we have lost some of our best providers to the sterile world of Tysons .. A lot of of are city folks and it's not possible to get to the burbs.
DC is actually a fun place with Dupont, Georgetown and a lot of other interesting areas without some of the headaches of bigger cities,

Both places are welcoming and not shady.  Also a lot less nosey hotel staff around!

Dulles, Sterling, Reston and Herndon.

I live nearby and am very flexible with times. I need a 3 hour window for a one hour appt in DC to take traffic and parking I to consideration. Also the traffic cameras are a pain. Almost for caught when I unknowingly got one in the mail.

Tyson's is quick and easy to get in and out of and has lots of great hotels. Will also do Arlington/Crystal City. Hate going into DC bc it's too hard to park during the week. Also prefer not to have to get on Dulles toll rd if possible.

Tyson's is a no-brainier for me.

and parking mostly easy and free everywhere...no brainer

I appreciate the DuPont Circle attributes but its a struggle for me...Other NOVA venues are okay as well ..usually a reasonable drive and few parking hassles..

I really appreciate everyone's input.  I can't wait to plan my trip next month!

If you are in Crystal City you are much more accessible to the market east of DC.

Easy and quick access to DCA along with many amenities within walking distance.

Close to Metro and downtown and parking is not an issue.
