I am not sure if they do reverse stings like that- the LE can get in trouble for writing reviews, unless they get a court order allowing them to do so. Otherwise, they are admitting that they had sex for money, lol. Plus, someone could argue that LE's fake review encouraged them to seek prostitution. Well then, this could be argued as the LE being paid to write reviews, which encourages one to seek prostitution =Pandering and promoting prostitution. Not a lawyer, or AM I ?
otherwise, you'd know that all the "reviews" here on TER are all fictional stories of encounters we all wish we had with the lady we may or may not have met for a period of time in the past.
However, you bring up good points about the possible legal battles that LE would face to accomplish this. Closely bordering on entrapment -- and that's a lot of risk and resources (time and money) to utilize when they can still make arrests for prostitution responding to online and print ads and relying on tips from hotel workers on specific rooms and linking up the two. Let alone taking care of the street walkers as well.
But, I am NOT a lawyer, so what do I know? It's always in the back of my mind before seeing a provider... is this an LE setup?? I guess I'm paranoid.
I don't see ANY reason why cops couldn't lie their asses off. Don't cops lie when doing undercover drug deals? The undercover cop himself says to the drug dealer "hey, I want to buy drugs. No, I'm not a cop." (paraphrasing of course). Also, can't cops tell a suspect that they supposedly have evidence against the suspect, when really the cops don't have it? For example, cop lies by telling suspect "we got your DNA all over the scene" or "we got an eyewitness that puts you at the scene of the crime", & the cops use these lies to put pressure on the suspect for a confession. On top of that, look at Craigslist stings-- the cops post a fake ad w/hot photos of some random women, promising full service for $$, then the dude answers the ad, goes to the location & hands over the $$, then the cops jump out & say 'surrpise- we lied'. So, I think there's no problem for a cop to post fake TER reviews & use a fake Provider to lay the trap for guys.
