Ok, I know this is stupid....and probably not one of my best posts, but I have a question.  My right eye keeps twitching! It is driving me insane....the eyelid keeps moving and jumping at all times during the day and until I fall asleep. It has been doing it all week. What the hell is wrong? And NO I didn't get some foreign substance in it >>>I know what all you dirty minds are thinking!

I would bet your eye problem is caused by a lack of tears.. try getting some artificial tears...

I bet you thought I was going to say something stupid like you need more orgasms....

The twitch can also be caused by looked at a picture of me naked...Or is that it would cause brain damage?

I only play one on TV, but typically this is an indication of stress or lack of sleep.  Go to bed...alone.

Almost everyone has experienced this some time in their lives.  These frequent and annoying muscle twitchs often follow a late night of studying or hours of driving, stress or drinking caffeinated beverages. Usually, this goes away after a good night sleep.  Stress and anxiety can play a large roll.  Some steps you can take include hot baths, warm or cold compresses, rinsing your eyes out with warm water, or administrating eye drops. If it persists for more than 72 hours, go see an eye doctor.

Hope this helps.

I'm not a doctor but the twitching of your eye sounds like a nervous tick, there maybe something on your mind that your not dealing with, but anyway just go see a doctor and find out for sure.

IANAD, but my eye does that on occasion.  I happens for a few days then goes away.  I chalk it up to stress and/or lack of sleep, which reminds me, I should really go to bed...

And I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express with a provider, for what THATS worth.  Odds are very strong that its nothing to worry about and will resolve normally (at most a cpl of days).

And before you can say Blepharospasm three times fast, my advice is a) eat a banana (potassium you perv!), b) drink more fluids (no caffeine, no stims), and c) get more sleep.

Check both these guys for a close read:

and

And when you are done, well rested, relaxed, and seeking spasms in other parts of your body, PM me for a banana and protein shake.

IF it doesn't resolve normally in a cpl of days (3 days max), then seek someone who really does know what they are doing (although this is a classic hard-to-identify-before-it-resolves problem).

It could be your eyelashes rubbing together at the corners.  One or two on your upper eyelid get tangled with one or two on your lower eyelid and your eyelids twitch.  Happens to me sometimes.

...I seem to lose neuromuscular coordination when I drink beer. The more beer I drink, the worse it gets. What causes that?

You guys rock! I think it is from lack of sleep...I have been staying up late studying for the past week and 1/2 and I go to bed around 1:30am and wake up at 5am to go to work....SO i am sure that is the issue...

Thanks a bunch! I know you guys would have answers,

Charlie Jean

You no longer need me to pop over with my banana?  I was thinking you could provide me with your milk shake and I would provide you with my protein shake - certain to make MY muscles twitch!

Hello..

If your eye twitches uncontrollably, it could be the surface cells of your eye, called epithelial cells that can be damaged, causing all sorts of eye irritation. It can also become quite painful as the cells make your eye muscls spasm and that could be the twitching.

You must go to an opthamologist, not an optomistrist (they only check vision) and they can look at your eye through a microscope to see the epithelial's and see if they're damaged.  This is healed by medication, although it can recur.  Also, the suggestions to use artifical tears helps a lot, but won't cure it.

It can get worse without treatment if those eye cells have a problem.  I'd get it checked promotly..
