There was a recent thread on one of these boards about providers who habitually advertise their "retirement" tours to urge people to see them.  Possibly this is a marketing scheme?  I immediately thought of you, Kristen Thomas when I read that thread.
You seem to retire and un-retire quite often but apparently you have not pulled your reviews or website?
Are you one of those who just likes to announce your "retirement" for the attention you will receive?

Saw her once a few years ago, had an OK time, wouldn't repeat .....

Agree that it gets old after a while, especially when she sends out email updates to everyone she has seen.

Who cares?  If she is a beautiful woman who reappears, I mean WTF, enjoy while you can, if you want to...the more the merrier.

Those of us who have been around the hobby for more than 10 minutes know that ladies come and go. They reinvent and reappear.  No biggie.  There are a multitude of reasons, none of which necessarily involve anything nefarious.

As hobbyists we do ourselves a disservice if we make any lady feel unwelcome for coming into and out of our lives.

There are a few wonderful ladies that I WISH would unretire.

I agree that repeatedly announcing in public that you are "retiring" from this biz gets old.  It's sort of like the Eagles, who every year for the past ten years have announced that their next tour will be their final farewell tour.
I think "retirement" and "this is your last chance to see me for [some unspecified time]" tours are a poor marketing strategy.  They are only of interest to a small subset of hobbyists - those who have seen the lady, enjoyed their time, and would consider a repeat.  There's really no allure for hobbyists that have not seen the lady before.  If it's a great session, there's no chance of a repeat.  If it's a crappy session, there's no chance of a do-over.
When providers really want to retire they just leave the scene.

It's possibly a marketing attempt... much like businesses that constantly have a "Going out of business!" sale and yet are strangely still there a few months later.

OR

It could just be that she has a fairly turbulent personal life.  I mean, she would not be the first escort who is constantly attempting to juggle her real life and her professional (escort) obligations.

Agree that it is what it is in this game.  The main thing to me with any lady is consistency of service.  Whether it's avg., stellar or whatever...knowing what I am going to get for my time/money is what matters.

HAHA michael jordan did it a few times also.  Some times people change their minds and can't let go.

Several years ago when I was a newbie, a local lady with excellent reviews was on my to-do list. When I heard that she was retiring, I booked her immediately; she even discounted her rate. She became one of a favorites. A few days later she left the area. I've been hoping that she would return.

Retirement announcements do get some new business.

The truth is I don't know when I will be fully out of this biz.  This may very well be my last time in DC and it may not.  I only "retired" once and that was last January, at the time I didn't have any intention of coming back but I guess it is harder for me to leave this biz than I thought.  And, yes, before I retired I used my impending retirement as a marketing tool but it was only last winter (before my "retirement" in Jan) and I thought that if I saved enough I could take down my site and feel comfortable to pursue another path.  I left my reviews, etc up because I worked hard to get where I am at in this industry and I deserve to keep them as a fall back - a safety -  so I know I can support myself just incase my other career fell through... I am on my own in this world and don't come from a privileged upbringing so I am just doing the best I can.  I am not advertising THIS trip as a "Retirement Tour" like last time - so get off my back about it.  Obviously, if I am so on the fence about having my website up then the possibility of retirement is there.  I used to tour DC every month/every other month and I haven't been since January, I can't be marketing too hard since this is the case.  If you actually see me, feel free to review my LOOKS and PERFORMANCE but, please, don't review my life because you don't know me.
