WWYD. Provider missed appointment and won’t send deposit back

I booked appointment with a provider 2 weeks ago. Sent a 15% deposit. Earlier in the week hotels in my area where filling up fast so I reached out to let her know out accommodations would be changing and to make sure that was ok. She wanted me to change locations from Baltimore to DC because of the commute for her but I explained that I have to be a few miles from my house. She said that was fine so I booked a room.

The day of the appointment I check in to get the room number hours ahead of time then reach out to her to let her know, crickets. Appointment time is here, I wait 5 minutes then email her again asking if she was still coming. Nothing. I go to her ad and start calling and texting every number she has. Still nothing. I'm finally ready to just chalk it up as a loss then she texts me back saying she thought the appointment was next week and that she could send the deposit back. I already requested for her to send it back prior to but I explained I was upset because I'm not getting my time or hotel money back and if she would've just told me she didn't want to come I could have got a refund for the hotel or found an alternate option.

I know a lot of people would never send deposits but I've had a lot of success with it in the past and it generally puts me at ease with the providers professionalism. This provider is reviewed and has an online presence so I'm thinking she doesn't want to ruin her reputation. Wrong. I'm hesitant to disclose who the provider is or even leave a rip off review because they have my personal information. How would you handle this situation?

Quite the dilemma you have here Chuck. Can't wait to hear some of the sage and not so sage advice.

I had an appointment with a touring lady whom I’ve seen in her home city.  Which was a fantastic evening.  She reached out saying she’d be here…. I booked a session and for her didn’t hesitate to give a deposit.  2-3 days pass and I need to cancel.  Notified her on a Monday AM about that ahead of the Friday time.  So 4 days ahead.  She acknowledges but no return.   Frosty in that her site seems to indicate 48hrs for cancellations.

If providers want to make deposits the norm the entire community needs to bully and shun this behavior but as stated above it can have the opposite effect. Then of course some mongers will say it’s for suckers anyway. Tough spot to be in

I have had great success with deposits so far but I am sure there will come a day when I get burned. To lessen the risk, and of course it is too late for you, but what I don't do is outcall with a deposit. At that point you can get double burned.
.
Again, sorry about this but some of the best ladies require a deposit and it is just the risk I take but have been rewarded by amazing experiences while doing so.

You must have a rather unique name for that to be something to worry about if you choose not to write a rip-off review because of that.
