Get a throw away or pay as you go phone....keep it well hidden...use it only for the hobby.  As it is my friend, I fear it is only a matter of time before you find yourself in deep poo.

You handled it just like I do, and it never fails.  Whether it's a regular or someone you'll never talk to again, "Please don't call/text me" works every time.  That's been my experience.

She should not be calling you!  That is totally wrong.  She is disrespecting your privacy.  I would never call or text a client unless they called or texted me first.  Even then, if I receive a voicemail or text over 30 mins from the time it actually came in, I will not call or text just to be safe.

Why in the hell would a provider ever call or text a client out of the blue?!  Wow.... not cool.

I hope everything works out for you.  You need to let her know never to do that again.  You shouldn't have to.  But unfortunately, it's obvious you need to.

when you first speak to her that you tell her the best times you can be reached. I always ask while I have the person on the phone or while corresponding via email when they can be reached via phone or text if at all.

I do agree with the others though that she shouldn't have called. Certainly not something I would've done.

If she is doing this she is a threat to all. POST HER NAME so we know the risk we are taking. If you do not your post is worthless.

Depending on your phone, you might be able to take the sim card from a disposable phone. Just pay cash. That provider's phone number will show up on the phone bill. It is not hard for a nervous nellie to call the number or google it and follow the trail. Use hobby phone always. You should talk to the provider and be sure she has a good story if the wife calls....insurance sales, financial adviser, etc.

If your gonna use ur main cell phone, then look into adding some sort of blockage to ur service. I have verizon and for 5.99 a mo u can block up to 20 numbers at a time. No matter how good the provider is, they go onto my block especially the ones u just get a feel that they come and go into the area often. If you keep that number blocked for atleast 1month and feel u want to see her again, unblock it....Ive done this and when i call back after unblocking some say "i see u blocked my number"...Haha so she was trying to call at a unwanted time. NO GOOD. See them again and go right back on the block.

Or when ur around ur significant other have a quick button to put txt message on silent and phone calls. Somebody posted an app where u can route calls elsewhere or somethin.

You asked, "What's the protocol here". Your protocol is "please not call me anymore but to send e-mail instead". On that note, I like your protocol, it maintains a bridge as oppose to burning it.
