So last month I was in Oregon for business and of course got the itch to call a provider. Well, the particular area of the stae I was in did not have a bunch of choices, so I checked up on Craigslist...I should've known better. Normally I stay away from craigslist, but I was able to find a girl on there that actually had some nice pictures. She even had some nice reviews on TER. I felt that it was my lucky day and decided to give her a call. I talked to her on my first attempt and she told me that she needed about an hour and a half to get ready. I figured this was no problem and we arranged for our date. She sounded very sweet on the phone and even told me that it was a slow night and she was looking forward to having some company.
Well, about an hour later, I got into my rental car and made the 25 minute drive to an intersection near her place. She told me once I get there, to call her and she would give me directions to the apartment. Well, I arrived just on time and called her cell phone. What a surprise that after a few rings I got voive mail. No biggie at first, and I figiured I'd wait 5-10 minutes then call back. On my second attempt I got voice mail again and this time I left a message. As I waited another 15 minutes for a return call in the parking lot of a drug store, I started to become frustrated. I sent a friendly text message saying that I had arrived to the location and needed additional directions. Well, after another 30 minutes of waiting, I decided to attempt one more phone call and got voice mail again. I knew at that point it was a lost cause and returned to my hotel.
I know that in this hobby the providers and the hobbyists get stood up like this all the time. I just don't understand why with all the technology we have that someone can't be courteous and make a simple phone call or text message to cancel if they can't show up. And remember, I am speaking for both sides here. There is nothing worse than breaking plans without a polite explination. Just wanted to share my 2 cents. Any thoughts?
I had this exact scenario happen last year in Florida during a buisness trip there. I waited 2 hours, calling every 15 mins and texting. I returned to my hotel and sent an email, asking what happened.
The following day, I got a return email saying that I was a "No Show". I sent an angry email back how I was early, and that she should have about 8 phone messages & texts on her phone showing how hard I tried to connect.
Then I got an appollogy email back that her hobby phone had died and could she make it up to me. Was I stupid for trying the same scenario again with the same Lady.
I don't understand the point of calling more than once.. If I am there on time and she doesn't answer or call back within fifteen minutes I move on.. No stress ..
So its not just CL girls apparently! He was smart and did his research...and STILL got stood up. Women like that piss me off...Your(men's) time is JUST as valuable as ours...and after all the hoops you guys jump thru..and after getting verified..etc..the ladies should respect you as much as we want to be respected.
Sorry that happened to you hun and hope you have better luck next time!!
Funny coincidence; I just posted in another context that I was 3 for 3 in Portland w/ all 8's to 10's. No hassles at all except for an issue that two of them didn't check my references until the last minute.
Sorry for your bad luck; happy for mine. Feel free to PM me if you go back.
