I see your point but I enjoy the excitement of a new adventure. I have had a few "mini" ATF's usually only lasting no more than 4 sessions before the spark fizzes out. If I had a true long term ATF I would marry her but already have the ball and chain at home. I guess the hobby has its choices and to each their own.

I have many gentlemen with whom I have known for years, and visit with on a regular basis. What keeps them coming back, is that I always keep things interesting. One day we might find ourselves conservatively dressed for a nice evening out, and the next, we will stay in, and I will dress in lingerie, or a skin tight mini dress, sun dress, etc.
ATF, in my opinion, means that the lady is doing soemthing right, to keep her gentlemen friends returning to see her.

I have a provider who I absolutely adore, been seeing her for 4 yrs (give or take), as a provider and OTC- I like to mix it up, every now and then, but the goal is to have a strong 3-4 provider rotation; too much risk in venturing out and thinking with the other head

I would think for some personality types, especially those of the control freak persuasion, the reason they stick with an all time favorites is simple, they dislike change.

I like my ATF because she is consistent, easy to schedule with, great service, and always surprises me with a fresh look. Not necessarily drastic changes, but a new hairstyle, jewelry, outfit, etc. That and she is just pretty...GND all american blonde.
That being said, I like trying new things, too. So I'll venture out and try something else. I'm not a fetish guy or need to push limits, so I'm comparing apples to apples with providers as far as service. There is also a value issue, what her roses are compared to others for the same service. Finally, some providers offer more in terms of service for repeat customers, others do not. With my ATF, I get extras that are given freely and warmly. 
I guess its a lot like restaurants. Trying something new is fun, but sometimes you waste money on a bad experience - whether its food, service, atmosphere, etc. After awhile, you know what you like and stick to it...until the status quo changes.
Michellin concentrates on the quality, mastery of technique, personality and consistency of the food. My ATF fits all those categories, especially consistency of the 'food'.

...and I have the most fantastic day. In 2 years we've gone from scattered meetings as time allows to day-long meetings and several day-long, OTC, platonic hiking trips. We discuss openly and frequently the boundaries and compartmentalization of our relationship. My circle of friends in this endeavor is small, but she is in the center. It's a unique set of circumstances that I can't imagine being replicated out there.
My ATFs are people who I actually like (2, total)- I. Like my approach/results though
It comes down to chemistry. I know what I'm going to get for my investment. There is too many fly-by-night providers out there and as hot as some of their photos are, there is no replacing talent and the comfort of knowing someone and them knowing you.
From time to time I'll try someone new but it's hard to replace the way a certain someone touches you or does that little thing that drives me crazy or just seems to know those special spots.
I've been doing this a long time and when you find a ATF, it's often a temporary thing, then she disappears and you look for the next ATF.
With my ATF I KNOW I'm going to have a great time and hobble away like a pony express horse, rode hard and put away wet. It just sucks spending hard earned cash on meeting someone new and having a bad or so so experience.
They say variety is the spice of life. LOL But I do like being considered as an ATF to clients. It brings some familiarity to the encounter and allows us to get to know one another so much better, which I think makes for a quality session(s).
With that said.....I also think it is a good idea to see other providers as well. I am quite comfortable with my abilities but let's face it .....there is something to be said for variety. Isn't there?

I totally agree that variety is the spice of life. You can't find a new ATF unless you venture out and meet new ladies. I'm trying to set up a date with someone new for next week. It just so comforting knowing you can run back to your ATF if you have a Less that satisfying experience with a new lady. My ATF will kiss me where it hurts and make it all better.
