Busy as a Bumble Bee

I have a friend who to me, is like The Transformers' Bumble Bee.

One day, my friend's contract job finished (it seems to always happen around February in DC), so I prayed that my friend would find a nice job...but not as a sub-contractor...instead as a real employee.

I don't know if may praying worked, but not much longer, my friend got a nice job as a real employee...so I was happy for my friend.

But now I'm not so happy because I feel sorry every time I ask for a favor because my friend is so busy.

Do I need to find a new Bumble Bee?  I think I want to take back my prayer

I do think I know how though, what "busy as a bumble bee" means!

Busy is good, but too busy is not so good

I was busy stinging last night and this morning, and will be busy again this afternoon. Boy, is my bad little stinger tired!

It's just a saying.  Like a Bumble Bee is busy going from flower to flower all day long.  Though it is not usually in reference to anything sexual.  It just means they are busy.

Busy as a Bee is how is its usually said.  

Thats cute that you ask though.  We don't always realize how our little American saying can slip past people that are not from here.
