The safest places downtown Richmond .  I know that the court system in the arrest done in the suburban area likes to hold you and take you to court and prosecute you for being a working girl.  
 it was in the newspaper over the last five years that they've given girls up to a year in jail ,  it's crazy , but if you stay downtown seems to be OK in the city limits downtown check Google new see what I'm talking about

Amtrak has a several trains to DC as I recall when I spent some time there.  Reasonable price too. If I was not going to be in Charleston for business I would drive up from North Carolina and be your chauffeur.
