Hello all and thanks in advance for any feedback! I am visiting Charlotte now and Raleigh this week. After being bored out of my mind on my free time in South Carolina, I'd thought I'd ask here about things I can do and/or good places to eat by myself? Please feel free to PM me, thanks again :)

One of the reasons I relocated here a few years ago is the vibrant downtown area of Raleigh.
The art scene , restaurants , museums and nightlife .......love it !
If you want to PM me I'll be more specific with some suggestions.

but it really depends exactly where you decide to stay and how much "time" will you really have if you're "working"

Charlotte: Good Food is my favorite restaurant
Raleigh: check out 21C in Durham. It's a really cool hotel/art galler

That being said, it's a 30 mi+ drive depending on the "where" in Raleigh. Did I mention I LOVE 21-C though? ;-)

As STP mention the downtown area of Raleigh has some really cool places...in fact downtown Raleigh IS a cool place in itself. for me the Glenwood South area adjacent to the middle of downtown Raleigh is my fav place in Raleigh, hands down! The Fayetteville St  area of Downtown runs a close 2nd.

The North Hills or "midtown" area of Raleigh has a beautiful open air shopping and dining area, it's FAB, IMO.

The Crabtree Mall area has shopping and dining.  For dining I prefer dining at Brio an McCormick and Schmick's  which has cool outdoor dining and live music on the outside patios on specific evenings.

Charlotte has a great Uptown that is the best you' find in NC IMO. The SouthPark area of Charlotte is so much more than just SouthPark Mall.

Let me know if you need any specific info about Raleigh and enjoy your stay.

Steph xoxo
