I realize this thread is very old but I decided to post since I do have direct experience.
I used strip clubs while there, and they are essentially p4p playgrounds. No one actually strips or uses the pole unless it is for an artistic performance.

I went to a few clubs, but the one I liked the most was Palomino Premium Nightclub in the Vitacura district. I generally recommend Vitacura and Las Condes Districts in Santiago for hotel stays and nightclubs. Very Safe.
The format is as follows, the girls work by getting you to order drinks for them. A drink for you is $20, a drink for her is $60. Some girls only want to drink with you, and that is what they are comfortable doing. So its good before they sit down with you to find out what they are up for. The club has private rooms you can use, but most girls say they are 'icky' and prefer to go back to your hotel with you. The private rooms have no fees, so its all the same.
When I arrived, I told them I dont speak spanish and a host came and explained everything for me and let me pick the area i want to sit in. He also asked me for my preference and I said petite /Speaks english. There are a lot of women walking around, but he made sure that women that fit the description came by and said hello. There is no pressure of any kind to accept someone's company. One girl joined me, and we started looking at the other women going about in the club to see who I liked who can join us (I was set on having a threesome that night)
For a girl to join you for an hour, you buy her 3 drinks (maybe 4, i cant remember clearly but I think its 3). The club insists on doing things this way for reasons that will become clear later.
You find women of all varieties, i got along with a young chilean and blonde european-cuban woman. You also find women from all over south america working there.
On my first night, I took both girls for a threesome back at the hotel. They were very attractive and gave me great time. I was staying at a 5 star hotel and did not have any issues with the staff. In fact I got a very knowing smile from one of security guards in the lobby. The private time was what I would call Safe-GFE, meaning GFE except for doing a CBJ. I also spent some time talking about myself and how experienced I was as a hobbyist. This was essential for what happened on subsequent nights.
We talked at length and I understood more or less how this system works. For the $60 drink, $20 goes to the woman, $20 to the host (kind of like a maitre'd or waiter of sorts he takes all the drink orders and helps out when I have questions), $20 to the club. So for spending an hour with me they were making about $60 an hour. They had to leave to report back to the club before going home, this I assume was to make sure we dont spend more than an hour together. We exchanged phone numbers and decided to arrange a meeting directly. One girl (the cuban) was more experienced and had high roller clients she was spending a few days in Patagonia with, and the other girl trusted her judgement when she told her that I was someone who could be trusted (this is where spending the time letting them get to know me and my hobbying experience paid off)
So I agreed with them on an hourly rate (more than what they would make at the club, but less than what I would pay at the club). For the next night I met the Chilean woman and she spent the night with me, and was full GFE after I showed her a few of my test results and she could see I was the kind of person who gets regularly tested. The night after that she had to work at the club and so I saw her there but also hanged out with a Venezualan woman and tried the private room (I could see why the girls hate it). She was great tho.
On the subsequent night the Cuban woman was back and we had a nice overnight threesome. Was amazing, and she was also comfortable providing full GFE. In the morning I tipped them very well. We agreed to stay in touch (and have) and I have plans to visit again in the fall. We agreed that we would all get tested before the trip and share results so we can be even more intimate and do ultra-GFE. I plan to spend a week with them in Patagonia.
