August 1st-12th I am traveling Down The Oregon Coastline,  Northern and Southern California Coastline.    
I am traveling alone on my way to a tropical location.    
I get so excited when I get to visit new places and meet new people.  
Can anyone tell me the best places to stop for pleasure seekers?  What towns or cities?  
Also, your favorite places to visit on that trip

In NoCal, there is Healdsburg for restaurants, wineries and Bear Republic Brewing Company.  About 15 miles south is Santa Rosa.  There is a very nice historic hotel there called La Rose Hotel.  Santa Rosa has many nice restaurants and a few brew pubs.  Check out Russian River Brewing Company or Third Street Aleworks brew pubs.  

In SoCal, there are many excellent brew pubs in the San Diego area.  There's Karl Strauss, Ballast Point, Coronado Brewing, Stone, Green Flash, etc.  Also, many good restaurants in the Gaslamp District such as Strip Club - A Steak Place (https://www.cohnrestaurants.com/gaslampstripclub) where you actually grill your own steak and/or fish.   There's also a great Mexican restaurant called Miguel's Cocina (http://www.miguels-cocina.com/) on Shelter Island.  There is a very nice hotel on Shelter Island called Bay Club Hotel & Marina.

I have heard about the Russian River Brewing Company in Santa Rosa before as Portland is all about the beer.

Cohn Restaurants sounds like a blast to be able to grill your own. No complaining about the cook at this place. haha.

I am really excited for the first time to be able to take my time and explore the California coast. I have only driven through lLA a few times to get somewhere and I did visit San Francisco for 4 days. I loved it.

BTW, at the Strip Club - A Steak Place restaurant, you can either grill your selection or they will grill it for you.
