Taking provider out to dinner, looking for recommendations for date night restaurant.  Prefer place not too loud, staying in Mission Bay but willing to go to downtown too.  Like bar food, mexican, and/or seafood.

Seafood - I would say the Oceanaire the link is below.

The Hyatt has a great lounge all the way at the top that has some awesome food with a spectacular view.

with the kind of wow factor you want for a date out with a DDG woman.  The first is Bertrands at Mister A's.  French chef, great food, even better views.  If its warm out, ask for a table on the terrace.  Otherwise, request a table by the West or South window.  One of my favorite restaurants in the world.  They have a dress code, but not too stuffy.  Valet parking in the same building.

The other one is Eddie V's in La Jolla cove, looking out across the water.  Again, ask for a table by the window.  Both are within 15 minutes of Mission Bay, one north, one south.  More of a seafood place, but everything is excellent.

Both have an excellent wine list.  For two, with a reasonable wine, expect about $300-$350.  Without wine, about $250.

I call bullshit on your statement

"expect about $300-$350.  Without wine, about $250."

For me at least, anyplace that is going to run $250 "without wine" is going to run me at least $500 with wine. lol

I honestly can't imagine a restaurant pricey enough to run me $250 for food alone is going to have many bottles under a hundred bucks that would even begin to do the food justice. Not to mention $250 worth of food, deserves at least two bottles of wine to wash it down with. lol

Island Prime is a wonderful amazing scenic romantic restaurant on the Harbor. Not to be missed!

Gaslamp Strip Club -- check it out!

Great location on the beach. Not super pricey.

Of course the june gloom is bad I hear.
