If you want to budget a grand a day you can stay in a palace AND get five different chicas a day, or even more if your libido is up to it.
My position on these kind of joints is that even if they deliver EVERYTHING they promise, you are still paying at least twice the going rate down there and you are stuck with the chicas THEY provide instead of having the freedom to pick up any one of hundreds of working girls who would be glad to spend 24 hours with you for around a hundred bucks.

...a small town on the northern coast that is a major hub for independent hookers from across the country. Many mongers go there from across North America and Europe. I went there for a week earlier this year. I had a blast, and I plan to return.
You can get a room in a good hooker-friendly hotel (i.e. you can bring hookers back to your room with no problems) in Sosua for $65-$75 a night. You can pick up independent hookers in one of several hobby-oriented bars, clubs, and other venues along the main drag of Sosua, which is just around the corner from the main hooker-friendly hotels (a 3-minute walk).
You can choose your own hookers from a much wider range of girls than you would in an all-inclusive resort (such as the one that you mentioned) and negotiate your own rates, services, etc. Shorter sessions with independent Sosua hookers can cost the equivalent of $22-$44 a night; you can get a overnight session for the equivalent of $66-$88. What I have heard is that the independent girls often provide a higher quality of service because they have a motivation to earn tips and repeat business, whereas the girls in the all-inclusive resorts will give you service that is just good enough for them to keep their jobs.
Please read my previous post on Sosua (see the link below), which I wrote in such detail because I wanted it to serve as a resource for other mongers. I have seen many inquiries about the all-inclusive resorts on this board and wanted to inform other mongers that Sosua is a better alternative to those establishments. I have seen these inquiries so many times that it almost makes me wonder if it would be worth having a FAQ entry on this particular issue.
The only downside of the Do It Yourself (DIY) approach in Sosua is that you will have to put in the time and effort to find girls yourself - but I found that I enjoyed the thrill of the hunt and the uniquely entertaining form of people-watching that it provides.

The distinction between independent hookers and civilians in Latin America is not as clear as it is in the U.S. Many women only do it part-time or once in a blue moon when they need some extra cash. A lot of the part-time hookers in Sosua are students who come from across the country for the weekend and live normal civilian lives during the week; those are usually the hottest girls, and many of them are the Dominican version of the American fantasy about a college girl trying to put herself through college by working as a provider. Try to go on a weekend, which is easy to do if you live on the East Coast.
Also, it sounds like you might want to go with your spouse - is that correct? On my previous thread, you will see some comments about Latin American mongering opportunities for couples and women. I did see one lesbian-looking woman picking up hookers in Sosua, although this process evidently involved a bit more explanation and trial and error than it did for guys. If you are looking for couples-friendly hookers, I have no doubt that you could make that happen, but it would probably require a bit more effort as well. It would be a lot easier if one or both of you speaks Spanish, and don't be surprised if they try to charge you extra for a couples session.
