It's bed bug city there, although the Oyster Bar in the lobby is a great bargain for fresh shellfish. I you do go there, at least ask to see the meeting room where OJ got busted for kidnapping and armed robbery. At least that's something.
I stay at the Bellagio when I have my druthers. It has nice large rooms, a gorgeous lobby, and I find the staff very affable. I've stayed at the Mandalay a couple of times. It was nice, but each time there was some screw up. The first time my key card stopped working and it was an hour (at 2 AM) before they figured out how to get it to work. The second time was worse. Half the hotel lost water and to shower we had to use the locker room at the adjoining hotel. Neither time did I get comped for these problems, which turned me off to the place. A really great and affordable steakhouse is the Golden Steer on West Sahara. It's one of those restaurants that time forgot, but the food is great and the prices very reasonable. I stayed once at the Mirage, and once at the MGM. Both are OK, but hum-drum, especially as they no longer have the lion exhibit at the MGM.
Hello all! I am looking for places to stay and play in the Las Vegas area and of course areas to avoid. I would greatly appreciate any helpful info. PM's are welcome! Thanks in advance!
