Staying downtown
If I have time what are the best things to see near downtown?
Thanks in advance

- Signature Lounge for a cocktail/coffee - dont go to the observatory!
- Lincoln Park Zoo
- If its warm, do a boat tour
- river walk, some of the restaurants may be open.
- ride an elevated train
- Millenium Park/Grant Park/Maggie Daley Park - they are all connected.
- try some of the great food in this city
- Wrigleyville, but maybe a little crazy with the Cubs in town
- Michigan Ave - It's just shopping, a lot of shopping - I do recommend trying a donut from Stan's! :-D, stop into the Ghiradelli store and they give you a piece of chocolate :D
- State Street - shopping, broadway shows, I think the original Marshall Fields is spectacular inside with a cathedral ceiling

Chicago's Adler Planetarium (www.adlerplanetarium.org)
Shedd Aquarium (www.sheddaquarium.org)
Navy Pier (navypier.com)

Dinner at the signature room on the 95th floor or drinks at the bar on the 96 floor.

The architectural boat tour is the best way to see the city. Everybody told me that and I agree after having done it three times.

But this is one city I just like to walk around in. It is so pretty everywhere. They have pretty little parks and a nice Shoreline plus so many good stores.  You can walk around the magnificent mile on Michigan Avenue, by the river, by millennium Park, or by the lakeshore.

Navy Pier or Ohio Street Beach. If you walk down that strip there is enough to do that will take up your whole day.

I am so glad I saw this as I'll be in Chicago next week. Perfection!
