I love Nobu and Gari, but looking suggestions  for other alternatives.

The obvious answer is look in the mirror.... My bad you really want sushi, Try Sushi Nakazawa, Sushi Yasuda, Sushi Azabu,
Sushi Ishikawa, Satsuki for starters. All require reservations too btw. Maybe we could work out some accommodations my dear.

Those are good ones... Especially, Sushi of Gari! One of my go tos. If you want trendy I would try BondSt it has a good menu!!!  

There is a fairly new place! Requires a reservation {assigned seats, rarely walk ins but can stand outside to see if no one showed up for their reservation! A nice little beer garden next door to wait around until reservation time IF early} and a deposit! It is called  Sushi Kaito  
The 9 course was very filling!

If you're willing to go all out, check out Masa. Fish come straight from Tsukiji Market and chef Masayoshi Takayama is a legend.

That is a must!!!
