First thing to think about is climate. Time your trip around the middle of October when the leaves are at or near their peak color The other Climate (LE) has put a definite chill in the area so stay away from Dunwoody. Pick a few outlying areas where even if biz is slow you can find some beautiful scenery to enjoy.

I was just there a couple months ago its the high end part of Atlanta with a great shopping area almost like Rodeo Drive.
Also Buckhead has nice big hotels with lots of tourist and business people.
