But very hot and humid in the summer, so check out the weather that's expected during your visit.  As for the rest, Austin is a liberal bastion in a conservative state, and has a great food scene.  Nice place.

it was that hot and humid until I did a little research. Bummer, I'll stick to the mountains then lol. I don't do hot and humid and have driven thru TX a few times but never made it down to that area. Movin' on lol.

Lol thank you Hidden. I was actually talking about relocating there not just visiting. Too humid for me but the new construction boom is booming lol, that's right up my alley ;)

It used to be a music industry event but has morphed into a showcase for new technology.  And you don't have to be from Austin to know this, as hiddenBrain seems to imply.  Then again, he also doesn't know how to spell "putz," so he's a screw-up on many levels.

As for Austin, yes it's quite liberal, but I that's hardly a good thing.

 
Taylor, if you don't like the heat about the only place in Texas you could even remotely call "in the mountains" would be Amarillo, but I doubt you would care for it there.  Houston is even more humid than Austin which leaves you Dallas, that while hot in the summer is not what I would call humid. Dallas is not as liberal as Austin, but Boston isn't as liberal as Austin. lol It is a rather liberal city however and getting even more so as people start to flee from such high tax blue states like IL, NY and CA.  

 
Texas is still a great state to live, but I am sure before long the invading liberals are going to fuck it up, just like they fucked up their home states.
