The Dr. Phillips area is a nice part of Orlando with many restaurants that area.  There are many restaurants on Sand Lake Road or International Drive.  Closest beaches would be either Daytona Beach or Cocoa Beach, which are about an hour drive depending on traffic.  Alternatively there are St. Pete's area beaches, but they're about a 2-1/2 hour drive.
