There's certainly the obvious reason of wanting to hide a well deserved trash reputation, and I'd agree that's the most likely, but ...

I know of one local lady who apparently just doesn't like to be reviewed.  I'd been curious about her for a couple/few years, but TOFTT isn't usually in my budget.  Suddenly two or three positive reviews from apparently trustworthy reviewers appeared for her, and I put her back on a list of candidates.  (She's a little bit far away, so I've been in no hurry about making the leap.)  Then -boom- her TER profile vanished again.

I presume she asked for it to be removed, perhaps because she got a bad review, but I kind of think she just doesn't want to be reviewed and/or just doesn't want publicity outside of the ads and social media that SHE posts.

luckylady2night just has to decide whether or not he wants to take some TOFTT risk.
