I can't speak for every TS woman out there, but honestly being refered to as a "TRANNIE" is something less than flatering.
Another thing that might be a bit of intrest to you guys? A TS that finaly does have sex reasignment surgery actually can have all her records (including birth) changed, then can obtain a real mariage license legaly. Just some tibits!
Cheers! and remember............we have feelings too!
Maybe I didn't get the memo, but I didn't think "tranny" was a derogatory term.
I have always assumed that "tranny" was just short for Transsexual, transgender or transvestite. Sort of like a catch all phrase. I've even refered to me and my friends as tranny's! I kinda thought it was cute. lol
Kylie; In regards to what you've said about legal marriage after SRS, does that apply to every state? I notice this marriage law applies to only one as for now. Thanks.
Generally speaking as long as their is disclosure marriage to someone who has had reassignment surgery will stand. Again, generally speaking, there is a presumption of marriage and things like birth certificates etc. would be used to strengthen that presumption. Maybe not the best analogy but think of it in terms of adoption - once the certificate is legally changed the birth parent no longer has any rights and the adopting parent is legally obligated to care for a child.
The reassignment cases I'm familiar with have nothing to do with the new homosexual marriage law in Massachusetts, in fact, most don't even get near the topic of gay marriage.
For the record, i'm not a lawyer...I just read a lot!
Maybe you should be a lawyer. Errr, maybe not! I understood what you said!LOL. So, basically if there is no deception on the part of either party, the marriage would stand? That sounds like it would apply in all 50 states. Thanks, d&sc.
..but TS would have been a better term to use I suppose, it wasnt meant to be sarcastic. What I really meant was now you can actually marry a TS and both partners will have the same benefits under the law that any other couple that marries has. And, if it were possible for me to actually ask one, Kim or Vanity would be my first choice, not as a sex object but as a woman I'd like to live my life with. That being said, it will probably never happen, but at least now I can ask her and make it legal, and not just have a live-in GF that has no legal rights for medical or insurance benefits that type of relationship limits her to.. So, it will be curious to see who will be the first well known celebrity that will actually marry one of our well known transsexuals.
