Any advice re: TS providers that give and receive unprotected oral? + other worries

I'm very well aware that one could get herpes from performing oral sex on an uncovered TS provider.   However, the first and only TS provider that I was with claimed that it's safe.  Should I have run right then and there?  This TS had a very clean looking cock, but does that matter?  Can you still get herpes if there are no obvious lesions, etc, on the skin?  Foolishly, I gave an unprocted bj to this TS, which was reciprocated.  So far - 3 weeks later - no sores thank God.  Any advice re: TS providers that give and receive unprotected oral?
